hearing the hype on this a teeny bit and I thought it refering to the Afghan Whigs. Oh well - I was wrong. This is like Spoon, but better.

Well it's not that I don't want to work But I hate filling out all the applications And no one wants a middle-aged man On six different kinds of medications Well they don't make me feel up But they always do help me kneel down so I walk back out on the street And I throw my shadows to the ground And everyone knows that the truth Ain't no match for a really good lie

In your long white evening gown Loosely hanging halfway down There's a leather belt That cinches your waste Sitting on the pills We're in disgrace When you blew into the room Caught the smell of sweet perfume And your hair was pulled up high You're the thing that caught my eye.

this is great, just simply great.

I'm very jealous. Skipped Hillside 2006 and I had volunteered for the past couple of years. Again damn. It looks like Shary Boyle (the filmstrip thing operator) is opening for Bonnie Prince Billy under the name 'Dark Hand and Lamplight'. No idea what it would be like - but probably something worth seeing.

Christine Fellows - Paper Anniversary, I hope all you people seeing the Mountain Goats tour are buying Christine's record.

Third congrats on the nice sentiments, pervert.

That would make sense. You probably know this already - but they are married. I too just became a fan this year. One of those things I'm kicking myself for not doing sooner and missing that tour with Shary Boyle. I love that video for Migrations, absolutely love it!!! http://www.sixshooterrecords.com/six_site/..._migrations.mov Damn and double damn

Nice, and they are certainly keeping with the Car Parts theme.

yes - thank you. They really need to get those songs released! Been listening to Christine Fellows a ton lately. I swear Sampson writes her lyrics or she writes his.

Usually never add myspace artist friends requests - but do always check them out. This guy got an add. Is he like a big British thing?

I love this guy. He's half musician, half stand up and seems to have a huge fear of entering the US - so one stop in Seattle merits a post on this board. If you can see him, do. It's like the cheapest entertainment around: Booked him for a show last week. Knowing the man, I had an Irish Whiskey all ready to hand off, he shouted 'I know you' and gave me a hug. Just a classic entertainer and utterly correct about all the artists he works with and promotes. For instance Janove Ottensen and Kaisers Orchestra really are a cross between the Hives and Tom Waits.

Yo la tengo mix that Timbits made up last year. Perfect for Fall.

yeah that was them. I was trying to remember the name but all I could up with was 'A la carte'. -

so true. I was really surprized to read about that 'running with the devil' encore with the white rap/comedy opening band from last year. It just seemed worlds away from the band I saw. -

Y'know they are just friggin strange sometimes. 50-60 minute shows, no encore, little acknowledgment that audience is even there, ever. I had to race from the airport to the show in fear that they would come on early and miss the whole thing. still, one of my favourite bands and when the keyboard guy steps back to grab that trumpet, I melt. -

Yeah. Alt-c buzz band I suppose. I do like the bass and drums playing more than the songs though. -

Meco were playing a ton of new stuff on Tues. It all sounded pretty great but I was really surprized that only 3-4 songs were from Fading Trails and older stuff. We had to shout out questions on the name of the new songs and they mentioned that most had only just come out of rehersal They were also playing tricks on the trumpet player. Apparently he had not had time to practise, so they threatened to play ALL their trumpet containing songs as a test. Met Groth as well and I must say, he is just the nicest guy. -
