I've come to the Dinosaur Jr party a bit late really, I knew of them and heard some of their stuff but didn't get into them until I saw them live at ATP last year where I was completely blown away. Looking forward to the official release of this... plus I ordered a load of back issue stuff off the Merge records website the other day!

Been listening to that Dinosaur Jr album in the car this evening - it is very good, I'm about 1/2 way through. Agree with what you say Kyle, the opening 3 tracks are brilliant and whilst the mellow stuff isn't AS good, it's still great... impressive stuff. p.s. So how would you describe it?!

The bottom one, with the bird on it, is the new Andrew Bird album, Armchair Apocrypha, which is really good. Not sure how to describe it, quite folky americana... lush production.

Rakes is a bit of a disappointment unfortunately, though I've only listened to the first 1/2 of it... will give it another listen today... This morning: Seems to suit a frosty and bright morning...

Limiting to three is really difficult... I'll have to have a long hard think about that! Was listening to "It Still Moves" the other day for the first time in ages... it's brill.

One last chance...

I really like the Deerhunter album... not sure how to describe it, but it reminded me a little of LCD Soundsystem, but also boarders on ambient type stuff with hints of Brian Eno. For me this morning Got my official promo through yesterday

The Ponys is a particular highlight, not heard of them before until the album dropped on my doorstep the other week... great stuff.
