  1. Not a fan of her music, but damn, Neko has plenty more going for her.
  2. Not caught them live unfortunately. I'm a huge fan of "Sad Songs", but "Alligator" took a while to grow on me, didn't have the energy or drive that Sad Songs did... for me anyway.
  3. I'm going to stick up for the Coldplay guys... bare with me... Sure X&Y wasn't brilliant, but it wasn't shite either, there were a couple of really great singles on there. I like the fact they're trying to do something a little different by bringing in Eno, but it smacks a little of trying to copy U2, but if they make an album anywhere near as good as Achtung Baby out of this I'll be listening.
  4. It's a good one that... For me this morning: Bright Eyes > Four Winds EP
  5. Yeah, getting more and more of those... Great, great record that, really impressed me...
  6. Official promo came through the post yesterday
  7. It's great stuff - the guys contacted me through Myspace when I added them as a "friend" and sent me a copy of the album to review... it really is stunning stuff... can we call it Prog-Country or something?!?!
  8. I think that recommendation might have come from me... Bridget? Here's their Myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/rockplazacentral It's a great, great album... it's based around the idea of mechanical horses, with 6 legs who are trying to find their home... mind blowingly fantastic premise and it mixes all kinds of stuff together, it's like alt-country if the planet was Mars... if that makes sense!
  9. Some great photos from all of you... I've got a pretty good digital camera I just keep on forgetting to bring it with me... must take it around this weekend. One classical photo of Cambridge, where I live:
  10. Remembered the MP3's today... First listen now...
  11. That Rock City Plaza album is great, nice bunch of guys too. I bought The Wire over the weekend and been d/l a couple of their top albums of the year but yet to start spinning them. They included: Carla Bozulich - Evangelista Wolf Eyes - Human Animal Om - Conference of Birds
  12. De Lite : Filmlets For the more experimental music lovers out there: http://thesilentballet.com/dnn/Reviews/200...93/Default.aspx
  13. No worries - thanks for doing it!
  14. Any chance of posting the link for the rest of us please... I'd really like to hear that!
  15. I really liked that too, think I'll have to fork out for the real thing when it's finally released over here next week... Great album that, I'm hoping to catch him live on Sunday... For me this morning, seems a perfect soundtrack to a cold, bright morning: And also because I left the mp3's of the Andrew Bird album on my home pc... doh!
  16. These guys really are good - great follow up EP to their album...
  17. There was an article on them in this months Harp that turned me onto them. Got hold of Eisenhower and was really impressed... MMJ kicked them in the arse apparently as they had been thinking of giving up.
  18. Damn... I hate being behind the company firewall here, no Andrew Bird till later! I'm also going to have to disagree with you Good, Bad & Queen haters - I think it's a great album, but it's a definite grower. It's so understated and delicately arranged that it's an album you actually have to listen to. If its just on in the background, it just doesn't work... It is, however, a very British album, so not everyone might get it. NP: Wolf & Club - Vessels This is some dirty rock n roll...
