  1. Art Brut do, in fact, rule... their album has been out over here for about 12 months already and is a favourite of mine.
  2. When I investigated the UT back catalog I started with the "Best Of" album Anthology and then worked back from there with the bits I like the most... All the UT albums have been reissued recently with extra tracks and stuff and were really cheap...
  3. Not especially... though the voice might hint at that... I think he's a lot more original though, the music and arrangements on this album are great... such a good album
  4. I discovered, on a trawl through the internet, that Crowded House's final gig (Live outside Sydney Opera House in November 1996) is finally being released on DVD. It'll be available on CD and DVD to mark the 10th anniversary of the concert, on 20th November. On a slightly related note, Tim Finn (brother of Crowded House singer/songwriter Neil) has a new album "Imaginary Kingdom" out on 16th October http://www.farewelltotheworld.com/
  5. He did some of the string arrangements on the Arcade Fire album. His album is up on Oink... worth downloading and listening to BEFORE buying imo...
  6. From the Beeb this morning: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/5335400.stm
  7. Cool - I'm not sure what to think of the album... it's very odd... looking forward to seeing what you thought though, he's playing in London soon...

  11. It ain't very good... I managed to get through it though... there's maybe one or two good tracks on it. NP:
  12. From The Observer yesterday... Looking forward to the Jarvis Cocker, Long Blondes and Beck album - heard a track from Beck on the radio last week and liked it. It'll be good to hear Jarvis back as well - let's hope the break hasn't dulled his lyrical skills. And the Long Blondes - britpop with girls... what's there not to like??! Also, the Tom Waits collection should be good too...
  13. Happy Birthday - sorry I'm late to the party for this one! Hope you had a great time!
