fella - that should tide me over

I've obviously not been drinking enough over breakfast - still feeling my liver ache from the weekend Would love some more solo shows that's for sure... can't see them touring the UK until the next album's out really.

I must admit to being a little nervous about listening to his stuff on record and whether it'll do it justice... just hope it does! Also, Andrew, could I use a couple of your photos for the review? I was thinking of your general view, the john butler one and one of the emmylou ones too.

Bah! Howling Bells for sure I'm quite good "friends" with the guys over at Bella Union and they're more than happy to send me stuff, been really impressed with their output this year that's for sure and this Fionn Regan album is certainly accedingly good.

Back to this again... think it could get some love round these parts, very nice record...

Thanks for the heads up for sure - it worked out well in the end as Helen was already going and so were a couple of other friends. Definitely going to go next year if things work out. As for the Cambridge residents thing, they didn't check whether I was or not when we went in on Fri night, just gave us a wrist band... Club Tent is just good to hang out in when there's nothing else on - shelter, it's own bar, good music! Nothing to lose

The rampage was on Friday night - you were lucky to meet me on Sunday, man did I have a hangover and a half on Sat until the "hair of the dog" helped out in the evening! I was there for the whole weekend, from Fri night onwards and I have to say it was the best weekend I've had in ages. The atmosphere was brilliant; very relaxed and chilled - even in the heat. I interviewed him a month or two's back (linky) and asked him the same question and he suggested going to his website http://www.loobiecore.com/ and look at the free stuff he's upped on there! I also second everything brianjeremy says re: Sebadoh but I'd definitely recommend the Folk Implosion record One Part Lullaby which I think had some of Barlow's best songs on... And his solo record is really good too, took me a while to get into it but now it's a frequent player.

Yeah - I agree about UNCUT, since it's revamp I don't think I've read much in it at all and just glanced through the reviews. I've subscribed to Harp the other day and waiting for that to start, plus I've started reading Plan B as well; makes me realised I know nothing about music!
