  1. Cool - I must get a print out of the full setup for the weekend. I shall be there on Fri night, Sat and Sun... not sure about Thur night yet, depends on whether I'm roped into an 11-a-side football match against NIAB!
  2. As it's coming up to 9am here, a nice cuppa tea to kick start the day! Except in a large Tigger mug instead of a tiny tea cup...
  3. I really must pick that up... I wonder if there's one for a half decent price on ebay... Had another listen to the album last night - I'm sticking with my initial observation; it's good, but not great and I'm definitely disappointed with the production and "feel" of it, there's not quite enough GO in the record for me...
  4. I don't really listen to much music like this, so it has to be good; like the DJ Shadow stuff, but this is certainly good and some of it is REALLY good, it's just some of the tracks feel like filler.
  5. I'd like to listen to it in work, but the lack of ripping pisses me off a bit
  6. I can't decide what I think about it - some of it is really good and some of it I find a little boring....
  7. Yeah, I like it - got the official promo through on Fri, just a pain I can't rip it for my iTunes or iPod...rubbish. Definitely sticks with the vibe of Wildflower and it's a bit of a grower, there's a couple of duffers on it, but good. Still nothing truely great on it though and found the production a touch bland...
  8. Not sure about when it was recorded, but would make sense as it seems to have come out really quickly. Also, Nonesuch don't have a reputation for ruining records Just coming up to finishing it again... great stuff... looking forward to the official release for sure, going to blaring out of the car speakers on my way home tonight Bit of a change of tact next:
  9. Yeah - they've still kept their dusky sound, which is nice... my foot has been tapping like a hare in spring this afternoon, some great riffs.
  10. Is there no option to "consolidate" the library and check for tracks that aren't available?
  11. I'd like to see Hawley get it - might see the miserable old bastard smile then I've still not heard that Hot Chip record - sounds like a should get me a copy!
  12. I was a little bit worried about listening to this after Solace's remarks, but I'm really liking this a lot - not as gentle as I thought it might be. How good a song is "Strange Desire"... great stuff...
  13. Initial thoughts - are there songs listed in your iTunes that aren't actually physically on your computer? Say you deleted the source files but the "ghost" of them is still listed in iTunes. Then, when it came to synching it wouldn't find them to copy over? These are normally indicated by an (!) mark in the library... this'll also apply to duplicated songs too...
  14. I alwys find it hard er dependinhg on how fast I'm typing, and, like the above poster, I find it hard to not press the backspace key. Once I'm in a rhythm then it' s not too bad, but if i'm too slow then I'm all over the show...
  15. Perhaps I shouldn't be listening to this - makes me even sadder for missing them in London now! The sound is great, though Jim's voice sounds a bit shot in places!
  16. No worries! For me: MMJ - Okonokos (first play)
  17. Mercury Music Prize nominations have been announced this morning: Arctic Monkeys - 'Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not' Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan - 'Ballad Of The Broken Seas' Editors - 'The Back Room' Guillemots - 'Through The Windowpane' Richard Hawley - 'Coles Corner' Hot Chip - 'The Warning' Muse - 'Black Holes & Revelations' Zoe Rahman - 'Melting Pot' Lou Rhodes - 'Beloved One' Scritti Politti - 'White Bread Black Beer' Sway - 'This Is My Demo' Thom Yorke - 'The Eraser' Not a bad list for a change... Though I think the AM's will probably walk it - "they've change
  18. Not sure if that's directed at me, but I'll answer anyway! Fopp have had a few of her earlier albums on special offer, for a
  19. Went to the Cambridge Film Festival over the weekend and caught a stack of films. By far, my favourite was The Science Of Sleep by Michael Gondry. Funny, intelligent, weird and wonderful in equal measure. And it looked fantastic, though it was, in places, very apparent that he graduated from music vidoes! Also caught the UK premiere of Terry Gilliam's Tideland which was very, very weird. He was there and spoke a little bit about the film at the start and then did a Q&A afterwards. Comes across exactly as you'd imagine him to! He said Michael Palin had called it either his worst film
  20. I was just about to PM you actually - I've been listening to it over the weekend, a perfect companion to the sunny weather and general chilling!
