I actually rather like it... it's certainly split reviewers down the middle; those who think it's genius and those who think it's a big pile of steaming poo. There's just something about it that's interesting... sounding like a mix between The Fall, The Wedding Present and some odd school yard chanting...

Just heard this on the news this morning, absolutely gutted. I knew he was fighting cancer, but I thought he had the upper hand. A real shame - he'd even been back DJing on XFM in Manchester and was great, still really enthusiastic over new bands and artists.

Though I'll give Joan as a Policewoman a miss...

I really, really like it. It'll end up in my year end list, just such a great, unashamed, rock n roll record.

Future of the Left - Curses

Bon fucking Jovi... urgh... of all the bands that would work really well in this setting, that sounds like torture... Any more info on bands featuring other than The Police?? Not really sure how that'd work... Dylan's unplugged is really good. The early versions of it had a awful looped crowd applause during Knockin' on Heaven's Door that drove me insane...
