watch me fall
But the amazing thing about this rivalry is that none of the conventional wisdom really matters. It never seems to matter where these teams are ranked or who is favored or what people expect to see--its always a hard-fought game that usually comes down to who makes fewer mental mistakes. This is definitely a "who-wants-it-more" type rivalry, which is what makes it great. The same could be said for most rivalries though. I know our game with Clemson is always like that and look at Duke-UNC in basketball. That's what makes these rivalry games so much fun. Well, unless you're always on the losing end. Well, unless you're always on the losing end.Rivalry games are what makes college sports so great. The general rule of thumb for OSU/UM is to bet against the team that has more to lose. This year is pretty even, but with OSU being a season-long #1 and the fact that there is quite likely a Heisman on the line here, I'd say it puts the target more on them. Should be a great one. I honestly don't even care about the national championship game right now. To me, this is IT.

I was in town for it a couple years ago. I have a friend who used to be a hall director down in Clemson. I love that campus.

Our rivalry with Clemson never even has any type of national championship or even a conference championship implication but it's still intense. Especially when we get in fights and get national exposure. Really helps with recruiting!
Atticus
I have always enjoyed the traditional rivalry of my alma mater Vanderbilt with the game of football.

Side note: My kids were wrestling with each other yesterday and at one point the younger one executed a near-perfect takedown of her big sister. Normally I'd try to discourage such behavior, but in spirit of this week I instead reached into a drawer and gave her a sticker:

MrRain422
It's normally much more heated. But this year I think both fanbases respect the other team a lot. Both sides are too fearful of embarrassment to get too nasty with it. Also, this is a classy joint. When I see Buckeyes at the bar, I get nasty with them. But I don't want to taint VC by calling someone a cow-fucking cunt or something.
