awatt
If you do, please pray that Wilco will be somewhere in the Southeast at the end of October, when I'll be back in Atlanta for a few days (or NYC on or near 10/25). I don't care if it's Jesus, Allah, the Almighty--whatever. It it does turn out, I promise I'll consider believing!! I'll buy anyone a beer who has a direct line and can work this out! To live without a saviorAnswer to his nameShouldn't be afraidShouldn't be ashamed
Scalzunfield
Does anyone here pray? Nope. It never works unless you get off your ass and work towards the goal yourself. As far as Wilco making it to your desired location, I highly doubt that 1) it'll happen or 2) praying or getting off your ass will help. In a situation like that, I guess "prayer" is just as helping as "hoping" then. I'll be hoping they decide to announce a date in the Southeast for your sake though. embiggen
that's too greedy a reason to pray.
Lazy Locomotive
I pray. And my prayers are not "hope." Nothing wrong with believing in God folks.
Fritz
Sure, I pray.
cryptique
We got to pray, just to make it today. (But I don't, personally.)
mountain bed
Hmmmm.....it's been said that there's no such thing as an athiest on their deathbed. It's also been said you can get through a day w/o sex or drugs, but you can't get through a day w/o rationalization So I dunno... All that nonsense being said,I hope a show works out for ya man
awatt
They also say there are no atheists in foxholes, but I read some where that military atheists have objected to crosses in military cemeteries....but that's another thread.
wheelco
that's too greedy a reason to pray.no lie, when the big one was coming last year some people my folks were acquainted with (and not proudly I might add) on the coast of Alabama had a prayer session that God would have K strike elsewhere guess it worked

viatroy
It it does turn out, I promise I'll consider believing!! To live without a saviorAnswer to his nameShouldn't be afraidShouldn't be ashamed and you're a professor of religion, yes? The only rational way to go is agnostic in my book, because nobody actually knows the answer to THE question. Oh my name it is nothin'My age it means lessThe country I come fromIs called the MidwestI's taught and brought up thereThe laws to abideAnd that land that I live inHas God on its side. Oh the history books tell itThey tell it so wellThe cavalries chargedThe Indians fellThe cavalries chargedThe Indians diedOh the country was youngWith God on its side. Oh the Spanish-AmericanWar had its dayAnd the Civil War tooWas soon laid awayAnd the names of the heroesI's made to memorizeWith guns in their handsAnd God on their side. Oh the First World War, boysIt closed out its fateThe reason for fightingI never got straightBut I learned to accept itAccept it with prideFor you don't count the deadWhen God's on your side. When the Second World WarCame to an endWe forgave the GermansAnd we were friendsThough they murdered six millionIn the ovens they friedThe Germans now tooHave God on their side. I've learned to hate RussiansAll through my whole lifeIf another war startsIt's them we must fightTo hate them and fear themTo run and to hideAnd accept it all bravelyWith God on my side. But now we got weaponsOf the chemical dustIf fire them we're forced toThen fire them we mustOne push of the buttonAnd a shot the world wideAnd you never ask questionsWhen God's on your side. In a many dark hourI've been thinkin' about thisThat Jesus ChristWas betrayed by a kissBut I can't think for youYou'll have to decideWhether Judas IscariotHad God on his side. So now as I'm leavin'I'm weary as HellThe confusion I'm feelin'Ain't no tongue can tellThe words fill my headAnd fall to the floorIf God's on our sideHe'll stop the next war.
