solace Posted October 2, 2006 Share Posted October 2, 2006 The Hold Steady - Boys And Girls In America I have really disliked these guys in the past despite their hype around here, but this is making me want to revisit those earlier albums.i think the first one is still my favorite, but the new one is really feckin' great. lot more diversity. ballads, guest spots (Dave Pirner & Elizabeth Elmore, etc.) i listened to it all weekend. figured it'd get a high 8 low 9 on Pfork today or tomorrow, 9.4 is a bit higher than i figured even. i'd say it's def top 5-10 for me on the year so far tho. the Twin Cities references kill me. i've got a fun project related to that that i'm gonna try and work on here soon Quote Link to post Share on other sites
