Kalle
The Bob Dylan version is capo 5 and in the key of F major. Jeff's solo version from 03-05-2005 is Capo 4 in the key of E major I believe.
kaysettes
I think Tweedy's version is capo 2 actually, but not that it matters. Relative to the capo, the chords are: D-G-AD-Em-G-AD-G-AD-G-A And that's it.I think, I don't have a guitar anywhere.
Kalle
Yeah that's the exact same chords as what I said just in different places.
kaysettes
I know, I was just writing it out. Sorry if I stole your limelight.

Lance
I play it like Kaysettes describes; capo 2 - D-G-A, D-Em-G-A. But, I also throw in a D7 with the D every once and awhile. Lance
Hamishi
I don't think he plays it with a capo...just from how I play it taken form 3.5.05...Play an E major in the shape of a D major but barring on the second fret with your index finger...its a hell of a stretch, but it sounds good...hammer on the high e string when needed. then play the A major chord, the F# minor barre chord and then occasionally throw in the B major barre chord on the chorus and, i think the last line before the chorus(i.e. "he was always there to lend a helping hand" or whatever). If you don't understand this I can get more detailed but the song is pretty staright foreward...Seeing Wilco manana in Cincy schweet
Synthesizer Patel
I've got nothing to add about the tab, as it's all be answered and it's a very simple song to play, but I just thought i'd put a link to myspace where I've just uploaded a cover of the song. nissy tapeye
