Mr. Heartbreak
Has anyone else on here seen this? I loved every second of Jack Nicholson in it, and the male leads (neither of whom are my favorite actors) both turn in commendable performances. It wasn't The Sopranos, but it will have to tide me over until next year. Sir Stewart
Yeah, this movie deserves its own thread. I saw it opening night, and can't wait to see it again. Most entertaining movie I've seen in maybe years.
Big Perm
I enjoyed it. Yes, enjoyed it completely. Still no "Teen Wolf" but honestly what is?

EL the Famous
The scene where Sir Stewart fucks Mark Wahlberg up while yelling : 'where's your motherfuckin' funky bunch now, motherfucker?!' over and over again was the best.
Sir Stewart
"cutting room floor"
Azzurri
has anyone seen the Hong Kong movie upon which this is based, Infernal Affairs? That was cool. The actor who plays the Leo DiCaprio role is awesome.  The Departed is not a strict interpretation, as the ending was different. It was a great remake though. Alec Baldwin and Mark Whalberg had all the best lines, really hilarious. And Leo was excellent as well. He came a long way from Titanic, thankfully (one of the worst movies i've ever seen).
Sir Stewart
The original is right up there with the Scorsese film. Except it's much less fun.

myboyblue
And Leo was excellent as well. He came a long way from Titanic, thankfully (one of the worst movies i've ever seen). Leo was a fine actor well before Titanic was made. Check out "This Boy's Life" for one of his earliest movies. aricandover
Alec Baldwin was great in this. almost as good as his role in Glengarry Glen Ross, but not quite.

Mrs. Peel
Leo was a fine actor well before Titanic was made. Check out "This Boy's Life" for one of his earliest movies. He kicked ass in Basketball Diaries too.
nicburto
I've seen Infernal Affairs and liked it quite a bit - I'm somewhat apprehensive to see this one...
Beltmann
I've seen Infernal Affairs and liked it quite a bit - I'm somewhat apprehensive to see this one...The structure's basically the same, but this new one's all Scorsese.
Big Perm
He kicked ass in What's Eating Gilbert Grape too.
Sir Stewart
Leo was also great in The Aviator. But not in Gangs of New York.
Dude
So is DiCaprio the new De Niro now that De Niro is the new Brando?

Sir Stewart
I'm pretty sure Nicholson is our new Brando.

benjamin
Cranberry Juice? Are you on your period? Saw it last monday..... spectacular! Mark Wahlberg definetly had my fave lines.... "Are you calling us C_ _ _ _ s?"
preevyet
I thought that the movie was very entertaining. However, i wasnt a huge fan of the ending. While it was fine, i guess, i would have like something a little different. And, no, i'm not a fan of the happy, cookie cutter endings either Sorry for being very general, but i dont want to ruin it for those who havent seen it. Wahlberg was awesome...cranberry juice was hilarious too.
Sir Stewart
Perhaps Mr. Heartbreak would be interested in throwing a SPOILERS subhead on this thread? I'd love to talk specifically.
