solace
3 day pass is $249 + fees the pre-sale this past weekend (before the lineup was even announced, but there were rumors) was $199 it's quite spendy. it'd be at LEAST a $600-700 trip for me, and it just isn't worth it. unless i get on the guest list for the actual show, no way i can swing it. i just don't like festivals at all either though, so there's that too
napoleon
maybe they'll show one of the stages on AT&T's blue room website like they did bonnaroo and lollapalooza.

the_ashtray_says
as awesome as the line-up is, i hate coachella. i would love to see so many of those bands, but festivals and their shortened sets and multiple stages it just doesn't do it for me. But what i really dislike about it is, with this being so close to LA none of the bands are allowed to play local LA shows, which just blows. i'd way rather go to these bands own headlining shows than see them in some slot at coachella. and this rage re-union seems a little hypocritical to me. why are they doing it now? Bush has been in the office for how many years now? when the people could have really used a voice like Rage's once was, they were no where to be found. when there was a machine that needing more raging against than ever before, they were no where to be found. so why now? (tom morrello aside he's been fighting the system some a least still locally here in LA)
LouieB
Where do you stay at this event? At least for Lolla and other in city fests you can actually go to a hotel or something.... LouieB
gogo
There are hotels in the area, Lou, but you're definitely looking at driving and dealing with the hassle of parking (getting a spot, then getting out of the lot at the end of the night). Plus, anything halfway close and reasonably priced will be booked solid very early; and as you get farther away, you head towards Palm Springs, so the prices can get really high. Of course, I don't camp, so I don't even consider that to be a real option.
