Sky Bue Sky Lyrics

Recommended Posts

I feel like the lyrics on this album are fantastic, among Jeff's best, so I figure if we put our heads and ears together we can bust these out in no time. I'll begin.

I started with what is my favorite song thus far and after figuring the lyrics out I love it even more.

Edited after going over Bobbob's version

Side With the Seeds

the tired stoplight

where the blacktop cracks

weeds pop through

dark green enough to be blue

when the mysteries

we believe in

aren

Either Way

maybe the sun will shine today

the clouds are blowing away

maybe i wont feel so afraid

i will try to understand

either way

maybe you still love me

maybe you don't

either you will or you won't

maybe you just need some time alone

i will try to understand

everything has its plan

either way

i'm going to stay

right, for you (this line?)

maybe the sun will shine today

the clouds will roll away

maybe i wont be so afraid

i will understand

everything has its plan

either way

That's what I hear.

"Sky Blue Sky"

Oh the band marched on in formation

The brass was phasing

Tunes I couldn't place

Windows open and raining in

The room yellow, blue, gold and grey

The drunks were richocheting

The old buildings downtown emptied so long ago

Windows broken and dreaming

So happy to leave what was my home

With the sky blue sky

This rotten time

Wouldn't seem so bad to me now

Oh I didn't die

I should be satisfied

I survived

It's good enough for now

With the sky blue sky

This rotten time

Wouldn't seem so bad to me now

Oh if I didn't die

I should be satisfied

I survived

It's good enough for now

"Hate It Here"

I try to stay busy

I do the dishes, I mow the lawn

I try to keep myself occupied

Even though I know your not coming home

I try to keep the house nice and neat

I make my bed, I change the sheets

I even learned how to use the washing machine

But keeping things clean

Doesn't change anything

What am I gonna do when I run out of shirts to fold?

What am I gonna do when I run out of lawn to mow?

What am I gonna do if you never come home?

Tell me, oh what am I gonna do?

I hate it

I hate it here

When you're gone

I caught myself thinking

I caught myself thinking once again

Have to try to keep my mind out of this

Try not to pretend

I'll check the phone

I'll check the mail

I'll check the phone again, I'll call your mom

But she says your not there

And I should take care

But I hate it here

When you're gone

I hate it

I hate it here

When you're gone

I try to stay busy

I take out, I sweep the floor

I try to keep myself occupied

Cause I know you don't live here anymore

I hear this part differnt:

You had:

the tired stoplight

where the blacktop cracks

weeds POP through

dark green enough to be blue

I thought it was:

the tired stoplight

where the blacktop cracks

Weeds SPARK through

dark green enough to be blue

(maybe I'm wrong) :hmm

It is kind of hard to hear some of the lyrics on this one. pop made sense to me because of blacktop cracks, but who knows. We will know for sure in May.

I'm really not hearing the first line as "The tired stoplight." If you listen to the very end of it, there's an unmistakable "k" sound. "Ties top black?" That doesn't make sense, I don't think, but it's what I'm hearing.

I hear "Tires tar black"

I had Tires tie black, which makes no sense, originally, but after seeing another version changed it to tired stoplight. But after listening some more I have to say that tires tar black sounds correct. Thank you.
