ms. yvon
RLAMF: rock like a mother fucker. **this is a cut and paste of the notes i posted on the mmj board. MIND BLOWING SHOW!! AHHHHH!! of note: the band were all sporting different color tuxedos. patrick--red, carl--orange, tommy--lt blue, bo--orange, jim--pink** ok. because i have to shower, pack and leave for atlanta in one hour i am JUST GOING TO POST THE SETLIST. really. i mean it. let's see how this works out... --intro music a calypso piece--one big holiday--wonderful man--gideon**next to all three of these songs i wrote in all caps: BLOWING OUT!! GODDAMN!! --lowdown --bo rocking the keys with authority! (hey lisamarie!!)--off the record--sweet jesus!--O is the one that is real--on my set list as: O!! YEEEAAAH!!--lay low--sing you songs--whew. gorgeous! *swoon* this included the echoey outro that they've been playing lately--wordless chorus--WOOOOO! jim was sporting a veil of tulle (think tu-tu fabric) that he pulled off pat's drum kit for the top o'this one--phone went west!!--banter: all skate rap: jim explained that they want to change the rules of singles-only slow skates to include everyone. we were all encouraged to skate. --bear! really beautiful tonight. --dondante--really LONG instrumental tonight. in my notes as: wow! wow!--dancefloors! WOOO!! t-t tommy took this song to task tonight. bad. ass.--mahgeeta--again, my enthusiastic notes scrawled while fending off some moshing: FUCKING ROCKED--again, a note re: the badass quality of tom's playing. BREAK--crowing o' prom king & queen--not a real couple apparently, some mixup there. as the queen's shirtless date was escorted off the stage in favor of the guy in the jacket and viagra tie, she said, "but that's my boyfriend!" she spent a good part of the dance establishing a polite dancing distance from her king. --they danced to 'wonderful tonight'--i will leave it to someone else to describe what else was happening during this number. i will offer just this: pat, bo and tom were laughing A LOT during this whole bit.--Oh What a night!--frankie valli & the four seasons version--jim NAILED the falsetto parts at the end. as our australian friends say: RIPPA!--JOHNNY B. GOODE.--FUCKING MADHOUSE!!--i had to employ some defensive dancing during this number, but i didn't care. CARL, YOU BADASS!!--golden--we all needed a cool down after the last one. (**ok. of note: golden just started playing on my itunes. lovely!! it's the acoustic citsuoca version. ahhhhhh)during this song, jim was sporting the prom queen's left behind tiara as a headband--anytime--run thru--my notes, which make me laugh to remember: GOOD LORD!! OMG!! Carl RIPPING --at this point follow the train came out to join in for the last (argh!) number:--crimson & clover--carl performed the echoey vocal bit live into the mic while everyone was singing "crimson and clover, over and over..." holy hell. AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH!!! i'm going to be riding the high of this show all the way to the atlanta hairport tonight. today was filled with people from the forum: YOU ALL ROCK!! thanks for being social and bringing the party. WOOOOO!! safe travels to all of you. tomorrow night we can all wait for someone else to post the asheville setlist (JEN I'M LOOKING AT YOU! ) WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW. oh, and i had a jb's sausage after the show. and jb invited up on the stand to take a photograph with him. a gentleman who knows how to grill the vegetables to compliment a sausage. BONUS!! (also--hit the mean bean AND jittery joe's today. SPOT ON RECOMMENDATIONS, KIDS!) now i am REALLY getting into the shower and packing before i run out of steam (engine...) ms. yvon
yeah, if only those boys would display a sense of humor every once in a while... wendy, on night one i didn't go in costume, but i did wear a custom "ba-ba-bananas-nanas" t-shirt commemorating the cover of careless whisper on NYE. night 2 i was wearing a late 50's lace party dress. with converse low tops. girl's gotta dance. i think i might wear dresses with big skirts to all shows. the dancing was terrific! on night one the band came on stage in the tuxes AND silver molded foam pompadours. dapper!also on night one: they played "dancing in the moonlight", the king harvest song. "YOU CAN'T DANCE AND STAY UPTIGHT, IT'S A SUPERNATURAL DELIGHT!"

ms. yvon
AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING! pneyu: these words were ringing in my head at the start of this week as trip plans came into focus: "keep you eye on the prize!" sage advice, my friend.
ms. yvon
I really do want to hear what you wore to the prom though! this dress is pretty close to what i was wearing:i unpacked the dress yesterday (busy week... ). in many places the lace is decimated. i knew that whatever i wore would get destroyed (beer, moshing, etc.), but i was suprised at how destroyed. whew! for the record: have been binge-ing on these shows all week. :dancing
