Kalle
Ok well here's another tab to a new Wilco song. I'll post the chords in a little bit. This song is great and here it is! Intro lead e -----------------------------------b 5h7-5-----------------------------g ---------6-------------------------d -----------------6-6h7--4~-------a ------------------------------------e ------------------------------------ Break solo (play it choppy) e -----------------------------------7---7/9--7/5---7----------------------------------------------------------------------b 5--5-------5-5h7~--------5--5---------------------------5--5-----5h7-------------------------------------------------g 6--6-----------------------6--6---------------------------6--6----------6-5------4-----4h6-4---2----------------------d 7--7-----------------------6--6---------------------------7--7-----------------------------------------------------------a ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------0--------------------------------0----0h2e -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------0h2----2----- Verse Chords play in the same sort of R&B style as the verses in Hell Is Chrome. e 5-----5-----4-----5-----5-----5-----5------------------------------------b 5-----7-----5-----7-----5-----4-----3------------------------------------g 6-----7-----6-----7-----6-----5-----4----------------------------6~-----d --------------------------------------------------------------------7~-----a ------------------------------------------------------0--0h2---------------e -------------------------------------------------0h2---2------------------- Chorus walk up riff. I figure Nels play the octave up and Jeff plays an octave down. e ------------------------------------------------------------------b ------------------------------------------------------------------g-----------6h7-6--4----------------------------------------------d -----5-6------------6-------------------0-0--3-4-5-5--6-7-----a 7-7--------------------7-7-----------------------------------0--e ------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok well I'll post the rest of the song in a bit! That should give you a head start though. If you want the chords it's A, D, C#m, D, A, Cdim, Bm, A. Enjoy!

Kalle
Hahahhaa thanks. Here's the guitar solo play really vibrato or with a whammy bar. e --------------12----12-12h14----12h14-14-12----------------12-16---12-12h14------------b 12h14---------------------------------------------14h15p14--------------------------14-10~-g ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------d ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------a ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------e ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also Nels does another little solo run at the end of the song with a bending B note and then goes into this crazy thing. And for the last solo it's a mixture of the one I posted earlier and the one right here. Enjoy!

Wilco LP #7
fingering for Cdim anyone?
craigwinn
fingering for Cdim anyone? i do it thus: e-------------------------------------b--------------4--------------------g----------------5------------------d--------------4--------------------a-----------(3)-----------------------E--------------------------------------- It's nicer if you play the C note on the A string but easier to leave it out
Kalle
I'm pretty sure it's not a Cdim chord it has to be an Adim. If you play this song on piano you keep your pinky finger on an A note for all the chords except the C#m where you play a G# with your pinky. But yeah you do a walk down from the A chord played this way (C#, E, A) the Adim (C, Eb, A) and the Bm (B, D, A). Also Nels' Hell Is Chrome like "jabs" during the second verse show this as well. For the Beatles-ish type walk up in the chorus Jeff plays the first part an octave down from Nels and then they both play the second line the same. e -------------------------------b -------------------------------g -------------------------------d -------------------------------a -----------4/5-4-2-----------e 0-0--3-4------------4--0-0--

Gobias Industries
it's...A-D-C#m-D A-Adim-Bdim-A A D C#m Adim Bdim --- --- --- --- --- -5- -7- -5- -7- -6- -6- -7- -6- -5- -7- -7- -7- -6- -7- -9- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---- ---
BolivarBaLues
I'm pretty sure it's not a Cdim chord it has to be an Adim. Any note in a true diminished chord (not half-diminished, which I refer to as a minor-7 flat 5) serves as the root note. For example, a Cdim has these notes: c, gb, a, eb; Gbdim is gb, c, eb, a, Adim is a, eb, gb, c, etc. A fun trick when using a dimished chord in a song is to slide it up three frets, like this: This trick always works (as long as you're in the correct key) when a dim chord is called for because all you're doing is moving to different voicings of the same chord. I think a "Via Chicago" uses this trick (or at least I use it when I play it) on the "tracks of a train's arm" bit, except I just slide up once.
