noyes
this video of a Chavez soundcheck also gives a good idea of the size of Warsaw and this one gives a good idea of what it's like to be up front. (another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TLBByDhGOk)

MattZ
folks on brooklynvegan are claiming that they will be sleeping out for tickets. That seems a tad crazy.
embiggen
4am. I would say more like 2 or 3 am.
Mrs. Peel
I'm guessing there will be people there by 6pm tonight.
misslaura
Wow, that is insanity. I think this may be where I draw the line. Sleeping in on Saturday and having a day off is what I spend my entire week looking forward to. When I spoke to the box office at Irving Plaza they said that handing out vouchers and having people fill them out takes a few hours also. I think I would actually rather go up against scalpers and have the opportunity to overpay for a ticket than wait for 10 hours to possibly get turned away in the end anyway. evil horn
I've kind of resigned myself to not trying for this show. (umm, but I am willing to trade a pair of Hammerstein GA for a single to Warsaw!) I'll see them two nights in row as I'm doing the northampton and hammerstein... but I'll be taking a morning stroll over to union square to the farmer's market on saturday morning and will stop by the line. if anybody wants anything from the farmer's market, let me know!!! MattZ
I may be near union square tonight grabbing a beer with some buddies. If I am, I will check out how the line looks and will let folks on here know... If the line starts forming tonight, thats just insane.

noyes
"Yeah, I just drove by Warsaw and then onto Irving to scope it out. Already people at both camping out. I asked at Irving and they said they only got a small amount of tickets and the number of people already out there is more than they got so Irving is out. Warsaw got the bulk and so that is where I am on to. Good Luck to everyone" - some dude on BrooklynVegan boy am i glad i got that presale ticket.. that right there is exactly why i hardly go to shows anymore or strive to buy tickets to them. especially here in nyc.it feels like it's a race, like i can't comfortably buy tickets, all of sudden you're in some sort of ticket olympics or some shit. camping out and staying awake a whole night, its like c'mon.. haha. oatmealblizzard
Oh well, sounds like I won't be hassling with this. Warsaw would be fun and all, but I'm not camping out for it. I'll just take my Hammerstein Ballroom ticket and enjoy it.

I just drove by Warsaw as well. I think this guy was trying to generate buzz for people to avoid Irving. At about 7:15 there was no one in line yet (at Warsaw), and based on people that called Irving from here, I think it's a 50/50 split for tickets at each venue. That being said, I'm planning to show up at Warsaw sometime in the next 6 or so hours, but I'm not panicking. Dinner, a nap, and we'll take it from there.

heyjada
Just got back from Warsaw. The line started forming at 6 am. We got there far too early (3 am) and slept in the car from 4-7. We also drove over to Irving to kill time and there was no one there at 3:30 either. Any afternoon/evening camping stories were simply trying to spoil other people's plans. I would guess that people who got there as late as 12 noon ended up getting tickets (for those at Warsaw at least). There were probably close to 200 people there as we were leaving. I also asked about capacity for this show and the ticket sellers said they were selling 900 tickets total and a venue employee (bartender--they opened the bar for anyone that bought tickets) said her boss said they'd have 1000 on the 26th. heyjada
1000 on the 26th? clarify? The venue bartender I spoke to said it'd be a good night to work as there'd be about 1000 people attending the show.
