markosis
i have to add "Hate It Here" to my list of favorite moments on the record. mowing the lawn and doing laundry. fucking great. the chords are so god damn good too. I love these guys.

markosis
I also have to add Nels' solo in "Either Way" as a great moment. Its funny that Pitchfork made fun of that solo, and it is the first moment on the record that made me smile from ear to ear.

You Can Be The Stone
I also have to add Nels' solo in "Either Way" as a great moment. Its funny that Pitchfork made fun of that solo, and it is the first moment on the record that made me smile from ear to ear. Hell, the entire middle is beautiful. The way the strings come in, the beautiful chord progression of the bridge and how it leads into the solo, the magnificent solo, especially around 3'02 where Nels hits a handful of notes simultaneously; Nels' solo is a great outro to the bridge, and a great prologue to "Maybe the sun will shiiiiiine today!". It's probably the most beautiful 90 seconds Wilco has had, and Pitchfork makes a cheap weather channel joke.
Wilco Worshipper
AND, I have to say....the coda on 'Walken'....OMG!!!....I could NOT get it out of my head at work ALL NIGHT!!! Yes, yes...I'm replying to my own...I actually watched 'Walken' on the DVD and how EXCITED WAS I...when I realized the part of the coda that I dig the best and the song in general is actually JEFF!!! I played it for my 8 yr old and she was totally into it!!! (Unlike my stOOpid ignorant 19 yr old friend who thinks codas are just for people who don't know how to end a song!!!...ggrrr) I SO HOPE that they play it live and just jam the shit out if it!!!
