W(TF)
No sweat....maybe we're just on different wavelengths. I know what I wrote and meant, I think anyone can plainly see that. Bummer this thread went south, guess it might be the karma you get for putting the ISN'T in the topic subject.
oceanman
............had a thread about it and made everyone get along.
BeatingHippies
Ya its wrong. Preceded just means came before. At no point does the definition of the word mean came immediately before. Directly preceded is more up your alley. ... turned me onto Wilco.
Littlebear
i misread nothing. I understood what you were saying the whole time. And it's still wrong. You did misread it. He said : "Being There ISN'T the album that ...precedes Summerteeth, unless you don't count Woody Guthrie as a member of Wilco." You and your friend look like idiots now. edited
OOO
You did misread it. He said : "Being There ISN'T the album that ...precedes Summerteeth, unless you count Woody Guthrie as a member of Wilco." You and your friend look like idiots now. First of all, he said "unless you DON'T count Woody Guthrie".... second of all, Being There DOES precede Summerteeth chronologically, no matter how many albums you throw in between them. Sorry. Littlebear
Ya its wrong. Preceded just means came before. At no point does the definition of the word mean came immediately before. Directly preceded is more up your alley. Oh, I see the misunderstanding now. At least you're making it clear, Beating Hippies. The other Sarchi opposers are fucking the flies here. They could have pointed that *directly* thing before. To boot, Sarchi was pretty clear in what he meant. I personally often use "preceding" as "directly preceding", especially in this Wilco albums context. Same for "succeed". When I say the album "that succeeds", I understand "directly". Otherwise it's obviously not precise enough.
OOO
Perhaps you folks are confusing "preceded" with "directly preceded" The other Sarchi opposers are fucking the flies here. They could have pointed it that *directly* thing before. Just because you didn't read what I said doesn't mean I didn't say it.
Littlebear
First of all, he said "unless you DON'T count Woody Guthrie".... Sorry. yeah, and he was right to say "unless you don't count WG as a member of Wilco" to mean what he meant. Right?
OOO
I will concede that I'm just trying to break balls here, and I'm being somewhat of an ass. Sorry. No hard feelings.
Littlebear
Peace, bro. And peace and love to Beating Hippies, too.
froggie
...didnt cause any grammatical arguments on VC
W(TF)
Probably my bad for trying to be too "clever". But for the record... BT ISN'T the album that (directly) preceded Summerteeth, but it is if you are only counting 'pure Wilco' records. (i.e. if you don't count Woody as a band member) That's all. Peace and out.
