John Tesh
Can anyone tell me what role Jeff has on this song in particular, or even insignificance as a whole? It sounds as though Glenn is on the entire album.
aricandover
Jeff plays guitar on: "therefore i am", "memory lame", and "get a room" and he also plays harmonica on, "all downhill from here" Glenn plays drums and some percussion on all tracks. the band Jim put together for this album is quite awesome, and I'd really like to see them do something again. Lammycat
sorry if i'm being dumb here, but what band/collaberation/cd are you guys refering to?I believe it's in reference to a Jim O'Rourke album- Insignificance, on which Tweedy and Glenn lend their talents.

deepseacatfish
O'Rourke's Drag City Albums (Bad Timing, Eureka, Halfway to a Threeway, and Insignificance) are all pretty awesome affairs with great musical casts, highly recommended to anyone who likes Wilco

Thanks so much for the info. I haven't listened to Eureka in a while, but I know I remember thinking before that I heard Glenn on that recording as well. Do you happen to have the linear notes on it, and if so is Jeff on that album as well? What about the rest of the band compared to Insignificance? The guitar in All Downhill From Here reminds me of Hey Chicken. I'll have to listen for the harmonica, I don't remember that either.

Jeff only appears on Insignificance, Eureka was recorded before he met Jim and Glenn EDIT: as far as the rest of the band on Eureka, I'll have to check the liner notes when I get home tonight (unless someone beats me to it) Edited August 3, 2007 by Aricandover
rileykill
Jim O'rourke, Tim Barnes, Darin Gray, Glenn Kotche, Ken Champion, Jeff Tweedy, Rob Mazurek, and Ken Vandermark. Ken Vandermark is possibly my favorite jazz musician. Totally, completely mind blowing. Simpatco has got to be in my top 5 jazz records ever (and that's some stiff competition).
