H.Stone
Does anyone know who's opening for Wilco in October? The guys from Dr. Dog said it's not them, and I haven't seen anything on Wilco World or the venue (Eagle's Ballroom) site saying who's the opener. Curious if anyone here has heard. H.Stone
Excellent. Are you taking requests?
WaronWar
It would be cool if it was Califone because I have been loving there music lately. Plus, they have opened for Wilco in the past. I am also going to the Eagle's Ballroom show too.
oceanman
Excellent. Are you taking requests?Sure, but the only covers I do are Culture Club tunes.
DAngerer09
Phonograph's entire October schedule has no shows listed as of now. They have toured with Wilco some in the past. I hope it turns out to be them, because I would really like to see them live.
Hippycat
Well the last time I saw them play the Detroit area they had My Morning Jacket open for them. Slim chance that will happen again. Though to be fair I saw them play in Toronto this year with Low, and I thought they were pretty good. Not necessarily a great compliment for what Wilco brought on later, but good in their own way. The M's in London last year were terrible though. Would have been better without an opener. So could be anyone really. PS - If anyone from Wilco reads this, please play California Stars when you play Detroit. Thanks
Wendy
It would be cool if it was Califone because I have been loving there music lately. Plus, they have opened for Wilco in the past. I'm right there with you on that one. I love Califone!
H.Stone
I am also going to the Eagle's Ballroom show too. Cool! Maybe we'll see one another up front. Sure, but the only covers I do are Culture Club tunes. Do you really want to hurt me? Any of the above mentioned bands would be great. I've never seen Califone, Phonograph, or My Morning Jacket, but we saw Low at First Avenue a few years ago. It was a great show, but it's the first time I've heard anyone get shushed (Ssshhhh!!) at First Avenue. The first time I've seen people SIT for a show at First AVe.! So I can see what people are saying about not being a great pre-Wilco (or Eagle's Ballroom, for that matter) fit.
LouieB
It won't matter who opens for them at the Eagles Ballroom, they will still sound like crap.....if the last show there is any indication... LouieB
quarter23cd
I'd be ok with no opener and more Wilco in Columbus.
