Guest Muncle Douchey Posted February 21, 2008 Share Posted February 21, 2008 for the post "red-eyed & blue" last lyric of the song Riff, i usually do 5 5 5 0 2 5 5 5 0 2 1 and then an E chord. in other words, i slide down to one at the end of the riff. i believe this is what's down in the album version as well. actually, i like to play open 5th string in stead of 5 on the 6th string. i like the loose open string sound better. just my two cents... Also, from what I can tell from Tweedy, on the intro to the outro section: -0-0-0---0-0-0----0-0-0-0-0-0-0- -2-2-2---2-2-2----0-0-0-2-3-2-0- -2-2-2---2-2-2----1-1-1-1-1-1-1- -2-2-2---2-2-2----2-2-2-2-2-2-2- -0-0-0---0-0-0----2-2-2-2-2-2-2- ------0-2-----3-2-0-0-0-0-0-0-0- It's just more chord-y and the chords are in there to beef the whole thing up a bit. I think he keeps playing a Dm there then switches to something else... not just you, man. it's never sounded quite right to me either. i think the Em is right, but that Fm seems off. i've tried pretty much everything other chord there it can't find the right one. my guess is it's some variation of an F or Fm though.
