Odd to see a magazine/newspaper open up their content instead of making it pay to read.

 

 

Print media is on the way out.

 

In five years, most newspapers will the glorified versions of the Thrifty Nickle.

Perhaps - but that doesn't mean every magazine will be free online in five years.

 

 

I'm not so sure about that.

 

If the magazines can determine a way to make a reasonable profit with banner ads, then all bets are off.

Paste is one magazine that I think is on its way out. The content seems to be getting more generic or uninteresting, and I this month's issue is one of the slimmest in a while.

I happen to disagree, but I do agree that newspapers will have to change to survive.
