Mr. Kinsley
I think it was because there were too many instances of kids being led into a playground, house, unmarked van by adults they'd never met. There were a lot of not-so-good ideas about strangers being reinforced in the original episodes.

Good Old Neon
A more adult, some might say, violent take on Sesame Street - not for the little ones. Some of you may already be familiar with this one. oh and this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z93Kvl3YMWQ...feature=related

ZenLunatic
Someone told me that the recent Sesame Street dvd release has a parental advisory sticker of some sort on it - is that true? Its true. I heard the same thing. They think the early Sesame streets which I grew up on is now unsuitable for kids in today's standards. For example, they dont like cookie monster. They thought he was too agressive and addictive. Isnt that what made him funny? This is the same reason alot of the cartoons I grew up watching is critized now like Woody Woodpecker and Tom and Jerry. I think its all stupid and people are being wasy too over bearing. Sir Stewart
I read a review for the DVD that said the label is justified for at least one scene where a kid meets a stranger in the street and follows him somewhere (innocent scene of course). I can understand that. Times have changed - it isn't just PC run wild.
