Nonlinear Nonfiction Posted February 3, 2008 Share Posted February 3, 2008 I missed this one, but word has it that Tweedy and the boys from Golden Smog played at Obama's rally at the Target Center in Minneapolis yesterday (Feb. 2, 2008). huggle Posted February 3, 2008 Share Posted February 3, 2008 I was at the rally yesterday and yes Golden Smog was there and yes the whole event blew my mind (I don't see the thread that talks about Obama in MN-if there is one I apologize for repeating information). My friends and I lined up outside the Target Center just before 12:00 for 1:30 doors, and we were already among a couple thousand people. The line continued to grow and grow even while we were entering the venue. Golden Smog started playing probably at about 3:00, I think, and I had no idea they were going to be there so I essentially flipped out like the teenage girl that I am. Anyways, they played very well, and I especially enjoyed hearing "Glad and Sorry". It just was incredible to have the opportunity to see both Barack and Golden Smog in one place together. He started by ripping them ("Perhaps they should be called Golden Smaug? Apparently musicians don't age like, say, fine wine...") and then, after Obama name-dropped Jeff Tweedy, the guy blogged, "Wait, was Jeff Tweedy part of Golden Smog?
