embiggen
I don't know about any Hot Tuna album(s) but maybe there could be some recommendations...
Sir Stewart
This should really be two threads.
NightOfJoy
If I may make a suggestion.........skip the studio recorded material and go straight to their field recordings. There are tons of concert recordings spanning their entire career out there.
aricandover
my mother-in-law passed out at a Hot Tuna show.

Lammycat
If I may make a suggestion.........skip the studio recorded material and go straight to their field recordings. There are tons of concert recordings spanning their entire career out there.I really like a lot of their studio stuff, actually: Burgers, Phosphorescent Rat, America's Choice, Yellow Fever, and Hoppkorv(great consecutive run of studio albums) as well as Splashdown are fantastic albums. Granted the live stuff is glorious, but they shined in the studio, too.

LouieB
They are all good, but the first one is particularly good and more accoustic. All can be gotten dirt cheap at any used record store that has LPs. Jorma's solo albums such as Quah is also quite good. LouieB
