drewradlack
Well, she's finished. The guitar consists of a piece of mahogany I got for free, a scrap piece of nautical wood.I got all the parts from guitarfetish.com. The pickup is the Retrotron NY II, a Rickenbacker style P90. Great sound: bright and warm.I got the nut from ebay. It's bone.It plays a little funky, and the string spacing is "unique." But overall, the guitar has its charms. lamradio
Cool! Nice work. I've always wanted to make a guitar.. But I can barely solder a pickup into my guitar, so it would probably be a disaster..
jimmyjimmy
I like it. Lots actually.Congrats. Just looking at that makes me want to get one......and run it through a highly overdriven amp just to hear what kind of whack-job sounds I could make with it. Of course I suggested to someone recently that she run an autoharp through an overdriven amp. So there's a bit of perspective for you. I should've bought this when I had the chance:clicky
drewradlack
Dig the color and the price, shame to lose that one.

dannygutters
what is unique about the sting spacing?
drewradlack
what is unique about the sting spacing? I kinda rushed cutting the nut, and the string spacing didn't turn out it quite as I intended: the distances between strings gradually decreasing from the low E to the high E. The spacing between the strings on mine is a bit all over the place. Ha. "Unique"=sloppy.

TCP
I like it. I've always wanted to make my own 8 or 10 string lap steel with one of these bridges.
