radiokills
i very much enjoy some of his books, although the syntax in a number of them is very similar. entertaining at the very least. i just started Invisible Monsters, which seems interesting, as all of his novels are. anyways, discuss your love/hate of him. lamradio
Have you read Survivor? If you haven't, it's his best book in my opinion... I didn't much care for Invisible Monsters.. It was..... interesting.. Choke is another great one. I don't get to read that much, but he's by far my favorite author.
radiokills
i have read survivor. i read it after fight club and choke, so its my least favorite of his because the narration is very much the same style. rant is also very good. and diary. haunted is all sorts of fucked up however. lamradio
Yeah, Invisible Monsters is all sorts of fucked up as well. But if you like that sort of thing, you'll enjoy it.
Guest Muncle Douchey
i liked choke & fight club a shit ton, but was rather indifferent on the rest.
radiokills
i think movie rights for invisible monsters and survivor and choke have been bought.
yermom
I've read Choke, Lullaby, and the Stranger Than Fiction collection. His writing style is such that I find his books pretty easy to breeze through, there's a sense of speed in the way that he writes. I like it that way and should probably read him some more. I bought Rant but sold it on eBay before I had the chance to read it (hard up for Christmas money). Apparently, his next one (comes out this month) is about a "gang bang" porno. That should be interesting.
radiokills
great ive been meaning to do some reading on gang bang.
OOO
i think movie rights for invisible monsters and survivor and choke have been bought. Choke has already been made and was screened at sundance. link

Beltmann
Apparently, his next one (comes out this month) is about a "gang bang" porno. That should be interesting. This documentary seems relevant
lamradio
i think movie rights for invisible monsters and survivor and choke have been bought. Awesome. I've always said that Survivor would make an excellent movie.
Katie3
I've only read Choke, but I really liked it and I cant wait to see the movie.
TheMaker
I'm in the I've-only-read-Choke category, too, but I thought it was execrable. Not only does it contain the single most awkward colloquialism for load-blowing that I've ever laid eyes on ("toss my soldiers" - what the fuck?), there's maybe enough plot spread out over 250 large-print pages to support a briskly paced short story. The whole thing felt like a highly superficial and largely pointless exercise to me.
trevor
yeah, of the 4 books i've read by him, Choke was by far my least favourite. think I enjoyed Survivor the most; I read them all during my senior years at high school, and really have zero desire to read any of his stuff again. dannygutters
I think he covers a lack of ability to create a compelling narrative by over self awareness ('This is so ironic and symbolic what I'm doing in this scene... etc. I am Jack's post modern hipster detatchment') and shocking visuals. Like he wants to be the David Lynch of novels. But he's easy to read,so lets call him basically... the most hip of the airport authors?
Good Old Neon
I enjoy Palahniuk
