remphish1
I saw the Cure twice over this past weekend and had a wonderful time. Over two shows I heard 47 different songs! It is mind boggling how many different songs they could play in over two shows. Their shows do not disappoint and they are consistently over 3 hours long! You certainly get the bang for the buck. The band sounded great, Robert was on and I highly recommend catching a show! I also loved the themed encores! They played 7 songs off their 1979 debut album Boy's Don't Cry!!! Fairfax 5/9 Setlist Plainsong, Prayers For Rain, A Strange Day, alt.end, The Walk, The End of the World, Lovesong, To Wish Impossible Things, Pictures of You, Lullaby, The Perfect Boy, From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea, Hot Hot Hot!!!, The Only One, Push, Friday I'm In Love, Inbetween Days, Just Like Heaven, Primary, Shake Dog Shake, Never Enough, Wrong Number, One Hundred Years, Disintegration 1st encore: At Night, M, Play For Today, A Forest2nd encore: Lovecats, Let's Go To Bed, Freakshow, Close To Me, Why Can't I Be You3rd encore: Boys Don't Cry, Jumping Someone Else's Train, Grinding Halt, 10:15 Saturday Night, Killing An Arab. yermom
Oh man, those 3rd encores are so beautifully old school! I'm jealous.A Forest live! The Cure is one of a very small number of bands that have stood the test of time for me and carried over from my youth into adulthood nicely. Just thinking about it makes me all giddy. I looooooooove it!Question: What are the audiences like for Cure shows now? Is it mostly fans from the wayback or are there teenagers and stuff there too? Edit: I'm just noticing it goes from Play for Today into A Forest. I bet that's a sweet transition.
remphish1
Looks like very few gothy types anymore. Mostly college aged-40 somethings...saw a handful of teenagers.

borracho
i think i'm going to have to forego the Dallas Cure show... with gas prices (driving from OKC) and the expensive Tom Waits tickets i'll be buying this friday, something's gotta give...
