Good Old Neon
john, some things never change around here. i don't know why i even bother responding to you. sounds like you've got everything figured out. no need for me to add anything. it's funny how the first thing i knew you would mention was my use of wiki as a reference. feel free to correct the info on the wiki entry. i didn't read anything on it about ahmadinejad's need for mullah approval to order room service. where exactly was that referenced? you have a great command of liberal talking points according to your post. yay for you! whatever... good day sir. John Smith
Since you brought it up here you go, straight from wiki: The political system of the Islamic Republic is based on the 1979 Constitution. The system comprises several intricately connected governing bodies. The Supreme Leader of Iran is responsible for delineation and supervision of the general policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.[71] KEY PHRASE HERE:The Supreme Leader is Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, controls the military intelligence and security operations; and has sole power to declare war or peace. END OF KEY PHRASE [71] The heads of the judiciary, state radio and television networks, the commanders of the police and military forces and six of the twelve members of the Council of Guardians are appointed by the Supreme Leader.[71] The Assembly of Experts elects and dismisses the Supreme Leader on the basis of qualifications and popular esteem.[72] The Assembly of Experts is responsible for supervising the Supreme Leader in the performance of legal duties. After the Supreme Leader, the Constitution defines the President of Iran as the highest state authority.[71][73] The President is elected by universal suffrage for a term of four years and can only be re-elected for one term.[73] Presidential candidates must be approved by the Council of Guardians prior to running in order to ensure their allegiance to the ideals of the Islamic revolution.[74] ANOTHER KEY PHRASE The President is responsible for the implementation of the Constitution and for the exercise of executive powers, except for matters directly related to the Supreme Leader, who has the final say in all matters.END OF SECOND KEY PHRASE [71] The President appoints and supervises the Council of Ministers, coordinates government decisions, and selects government policies to be placed before the legislature.[75] Eight Vice-Presidents serve under the President, as well as a cabinet of twenty two ministers, who must all be approved by the legislature.[76] ONE MORE KEY PHRASE Unlike many other states, the executive branch in Iran does not control the armed forces. Although the President appoints the Ministers of Intelligence and Defense, it is customary for the President to obtain explicit approval from the Supreme Leader for these two ministers before presenting them to the legislature for a vote of confidence. END OF THIRD KEY PHRASE Iran's current president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, was elected in a run-off poll in the 2005 presidential elections. His term expires in 2009.[77] I forgot the current crop of republicans has not interpretive powers and no sense of truth or reality. I'll spell it out, my room service comment was not really meant to reflect reality but used for illustrative purposes. What was I illustrating? I was illustrating that the president of Iran does not have the power to wage war or control the armed forces that our president has. I was also illustrating that our administration is selling this guy as a finger on the trigger nut who has the power to carry out what he says. he has a finger, he is a nut, but he does not have access to the trigger or the gun. Once again it is one more example of our administration backed by the compliant press selling fear to us whole sale when the fear has no basis in reality. But what would this administration or their dwindling number of followers know about reality. You know if you actually took the time you might find out that I am personally pretty conservative. I just think the republican party has turned itself into a clown show political parody. But once again I'll leave you with a cheery note to enjoy yourself as you insult me and completely avoid addressing any point I bring up. Just toss out the standard insults and brush all this off as an out of touch with (the right wing created) reality and have a nice day.

In case you have not notied you pretty much insult everyone you respond to who is not in agreemnt with your failed right wing ideology. You say your not a republican yet you seem to hit the talking points and defend the actiosn tooth and nail. The old phrase if it looks like a duck , walks like a duck and quacks like a duck really does apply. This really is tiring.

jmacomber68w
those headlines do their job, if someone was flipping through the tv and saw anything outrageous they would obviously be like wtf and check it out the news is nuts
uncool2pillow
Here I am on my local Fox News affiliate commenting on an assault that took place at a nearby park. I was also interviewed by the NBC affiliate and they put a lot more footage of my cute kids. They have yet to post their video online.
