Peter Buck's Rickenbacker of 26 years STOLEN!

Recommended Posts

Thats just so wrong. Vibes to Peter Buck on getting it back.

I'll never forget the guy standing next to me at the Robyn Hitchcock and The Venus 3 show. We were standing in front of Peter Buck right at the stagefront at this tiny place in Detroit, and this guy next to me kept going on and on and on talking to me about the Rickenbacker, he was just in awe of it, being so close to it. I, as usual, wasn't aware of these kinds of things.

It has gotten to the point that big time artists like Buck should invest in a Rickenbacker (or whatever ax they like) just to tour with and leave the really valuable one at home under lock and key for use in the studio. How on earth did someone not have their eye on this guitar 24/7?? Some poor roadie is probably catching holy hell right about now.

Call out the fuckin mafia to trace down the lowlife thug that did this, and once Buck has his axe back, kill the scoundrel with feedback......

Btw, the band played an excellent show on the night the guitar got stolen. It was raining and it was freezing (who the hell thought it would be a good idea to have an outdoor show in Finland in September). But seeing them on that stage having such a good time and playing great made me forget all that. They also played a bunch of rare songs that I as a casual fan hadn't even heard, but it just made me start going through their catalog in more detail over the last couple of days.

Nice! Glad you had a good time! Finland rocks! I was there once in March it didn't know what cold was until that day! Helsinki and Tampere were loads of fun! Hope to go back one day! :thumbup

Growing up, Peter Buck was like the cool brother I didn't have; I discovered a lot of great music from reading about other musicians and bands that he was into or connected to in some way (e.g., the Replacements).

I love that guitar and I'm glad it found it's way back to Peter, but he's gotta get rid of that sticker. :rolleyes
