Sigur Ros NYC 9/18/08

Recommended Posts

I have been seeing Sigur Ros for since 2002 and each and every time it is a different expierence. It still amazes me to this day that a band with esentially no lyrics that anyone can understad that people sit their attentitively and eat up every minute of it. Some of the sounds Jonsi obtains aren't matched by any other bands!

For this tour they do not have a string section and you can sense something is missing. Still a brilliant show as always. I still get goose bumps when I hear Vidrar live in the final buildup. Svefn is alway incredible live and there was also a healthy dose of Takk which is always in rotation on my player. The new stuff sounded great live and I wish they played more off the new album. Anyone else seeing them on this tour? If you haven't seen them before do yourself a favor and go already!

:dancing i can't wait! i'm seeing them with my brother and sister in Vancouver. It'll be my first show and their second. I've been listening to the latest album a lot lately. We're in the middle of the 4th row, in the gorgeous Chan Center at UBC!!!

pretty great show last night in Mpls, and while i don't think they SUFFERED from only being the core 4 members, having the strings and horns would have certainly added a lot (especially to the new songs), that's for sure.

probably would put it at #3 out of the 5 shows i've seen

first 30-45 minutes was way too mellow for my tastes though. was really hoping they'd kick it off with a few of the uptempo songs from the new album, but they saved all that for the last 45-60 minutes (which was the highlight and pretty brilliant). the sheer amount of confetti during 'Gobbledigook' was amazing, i had it everywhere when i got home :lol

i also got hit by Jonsi's broken bow when he threw it out in the crowd :o
