LouieB it was a comic book movie based on a little known comic book, when comic book movies weren't nearly as popular as they are today.
bigshoulders
Was it in the bargain bin?

I suppose had it been made today it would have had more traction a la Hellboy, since it has more in common with that type of story than a super hero movie. LouieB
Was it in the bargain bin?I would hope so. On Amazon dealers it is showing up for $1.94 used and $4.84 new. LouieB
Synthesizer Patel
it was a comic book movie based on a little known comic book, when comic book movies weren't nearly as popular as they are today. jamie hewlett drew the comic (from gorillaz, and 'monkey: journey to the west' - the opera based on the chinese monkey legend)
Mrs. Peel
My husband loved the comic and the subsequent movie. We had a Tank Girl poster hanging up in our house for quite some time.
LouieB
I recall thinking that the opening credits and the first 20 minutes were brilliant and after that....well maybe you had to be a fan of the comic to dig it, I dunno... LouieB

EL the Famous
the comic was fantastic and, like lou said, the film started off strong and then kind of puttered out. the hewlett opening/closing credits were phenomenal. lori petty ended up grating my nerves after a while, as she is prone to do in every film i've ever seen her in. yermom
I loved the movie and had the soundtrack too. I was always very impressed with Lori Petty's skin. I had a bigger crush on Jet though.

kathyp
I find that soundtrack in a record store every once in a while, usually for less than $3. Let's Do It (Let's Fall in Love) - Joan Jett, Paul Westerberg This is pretty fun, though.
Sir Stewart
Lori Petty on the poster was annoying enough to keep me from ever considering this movie.
