CortezTheKiller
It's only small snippets and it's a stream and all, but I think I'm going to like this album better than Sirens. And I like Sirens.
Wendy
"calling Mrs. Peel" ... and runs off to listen

And I like Sirens. yeah... hard to say on one listen through those clips (they're quite long though!), but it's sounding fantasticeven more soulful & rootsy than Sirens, which i absolutely loved. sometime i'd like more stuff like In A Razor Town & The Magician tho... i think it's safe to say his tour w/ Son Volt rubbed off on them a bit too
PopTodd
I was really disappointed with the first Jason Isbell solo record. Especially with the toothless version of "Dress Blues"

bsr8j
This is fucking great news. I really loved Sirens and I like what I'm hearing so far in the clips of the new 400 Unit album. Here's to many decades of great songwriting from Jason!
Mrs. Peel
"calling Mrs. Peel" I saw the bat signal, Wendy! :dancing :dancing As someone who doesn't do much downloading these days, I'm putting my plea out right now that everyone keep me in mind if you "happen across" a copy of this. miss jayne
I saw Jason and Browan at cafe du nord ten days ago. He did two sets and really seemed present. He was in fine voice and spirits about the new album. Love the snippets, I think he is such a fine songwriter just coming into his own. Looking forward to February

Analogman
Thanks, and thanks! Still no source on that other show you asked me about a while back.
Mrs. Peel
Still no source on that other show you asked me about a while back. That really sucks. Thanks for checking though. I look every once in a while when I happen to think of it.
tangara
I love Jason, but I'm not really digging the song streaming on his myspace. I'll check out that other link and see if the other snippets grab me. *edit* The snippets are, indeed, grabbing me. Much more so than the full song on the myspace. I think it's gonna be a good record!
CortezTheKiller
Jason is moving even further away from DBT in sound. Expected and, to a certain extent, welcomed.
Mrs. Peel
Can't wait for the next tour, too. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to have The Whigs for a supporting act again.
CortezTheKiller
I know they opened for DBT last spring, but have they opened for Jason before too?
Mrs. Peel
Yes, I saw them with Jason on his first solo tour in MA.
CortezTheKiller
Yes, I saw them with Jason on his first solo tour in MA.Nice. The first time I saw him he was opening for Son Volt. The next time Justin Townes Earle opened for him. The Whigs definitely bring the energy.
Mrs. Peel
I guess they've avoided taking sides!
