Ashes DVD Pre-order for UK

Recommended Posts

Hi. I was just wondering when the Ashes Of American Flags DVD would be available for UK fans to pre-order. Also, will the audio tracks be available to download, as they are on the US site?

Thanks.

Its available on Amazon.co.uk now. You can pick it up for about

Hey, thanks for the reply. I did see that Amazon had it a few days ago, but when I saw that US fans got an audio download of the tracks when they pre-ordered through the Wilco store, I decided to wait and see if the UK store would offer this too. I hope they do.

It's just one video track that you get with the preorder.

I would bet audio downloads would be free to everyone eventually, either by inserting your DVD into a computer or downloading from their website.

I don't mean the video download, I mean this:

"The audio tracks of all songs featured on the DVD (including the extras) will be available as a free audio download from wilcoworld (upon receipt of your dvd)."

I didn't know whether this meant you'd have to preorder the DVD through the Wilco site or not.

Oh, you should be definitely be fine. Usually, they're mp3s (192 or 320). With Sunken Treasure, they were 320kbps mp3's. You could get them no matter where you bought the DVD and then they eventually made them free to everybody on the website regardless of having bought the DVD or not.

Wilcoworld has this for pre-order. The DVD is $15, and the DVD and a tote bag is $20. Plus, you can get the 2009 calendar for $10 if you pre-order the DVD. I hate ordering stuff from their store, though, because the shipping is so expensive. The calendar, DVD, and tote bag would cost $8 to ship, which seems like a lot to me.

But they're shipping on the 15th presumably to get it to you by the 18th. That's not that bad. I'm personally just going to buy it in store on the 18th. It's a couple of blocks from me and they are some other Record Store Day releases I hope to get (MMJ, Pavement, maybe Sonic Youth)

Great, thanks for that. I like the idea of supporting the independents too, so hopefully the Wilco Store UK will sell it. Otherwise i'll try and find an Independent in my region that will stock it. As long as I can download those audio tracks, i'm happy.

It's so that people support independents instead of chains:

I guess I should have researched more. Thanks for clarifying that. :thumbup

I too will be purchasing on the day it comes out from a independent record store.. Shit, if I can even find one.. Most of them have closed down around here...

Here, too, unfortunately. The better of our two independent shops will likely be closed by the middle of next month, and the other has such a limited stock that I'm skeptical they'll even carry the DVD. There's only one other store in a two-hour radius from me that's participating in Record Store Day, so I may end up ordering it online anyway, even though I'd much rather buy it from an independent shop.
