duzer
Actually, general admission is the best for the Wiltern because you're on the floor. All the reserved seats are on the balcony further away. True they are closer, but only good if you are in the very front section, or the front of each level. I usually don't bother with the floor there any more - maybe I am old, but I much prefer the first few rows of the balcony for site and sound. Plus wife is preggers and she won't go if she has to stand ... at least I am in.
SoCalNow
I was logged on before 10am and I was able to get 2 for the Tuesday show but no luck on Monday. I also noticed the changing figures in the quantity drop down menu. I got through on the phone and the Frontgate rep. informed me that "they went really fast." She did not know how many were made available or when public on sale will happen. I'm very surprised.
J_Lefty
Thanks to the tip of some fellow ViaChicagoans, I called the Aronoff center's (Cincinnati) box office and they gave me better tickets than the pre-sale. YES! I am in the third row now!
ih8music
Called the Wiltern - they're not participating in the presale. Have to wait for the tickets to become available on TM I guess...
kidsmoke
I got in on the Wiltern tickets for both nights no problem. I was already logged in at 10 am. I was only buying for one. Maybe that was the difference? I think it definitely helped you that you were only buying one. I did manage to get tickets for the 1st night, and went immediately to trying to buy for night #2, but it was already out....and it was still only 9:59! So the number of available presale tix had to be quite small, and the demand high. L.A. is an awfully big market. Better luck for everyone in the main sale!
Norman Spine
It bites that virtually no presale tickets were available for The Wiltern. Sold out in less than 1 minute? I guess I had no chance. Public sale on Live Nation (with their usurious fees) begins Friday April 24th at 10 am.
gogo
It bites that virtually no presale tickets were available for The Wiltern.I think the rule of thumb for MusicToday was that 10% were available during the presale. Assuming the same is true for FrontGate, for the Wiltern, that's 230 tickets. Figure that most folks probably bought 2, that means only 115 people had to get on in the first minute, which is certainly possible in what is, as kidsmoke pointed out, a huge market. Yeah, pre-sales can be heartbreakers, no doubt about it.
itstillmoves84
In right at 10 am. I got Orchestra Row S 12 & 13 for Wolftrap in Vienna, VA. Not great -- not bad either. Wolftrap is such a great venue that anywhere in the Orchestra is a pretty good seat. Thought the system was much more responsive than the old presale system. Row E in the Orchestra on the left side. Agreed, this beat musictoday hands down. That site was brutal, and never worked. I was actually surprised how efficient was. I think I checked out in under a minute
zebra
The LA tickets went on sale at like 9:58. I have some in for both nights, then when I went to buy, the freaking system reset or something and then a screen showed the tickets were not on sale yet. When they went back on sale like half a minute later, they were out. Urgh. Is that only a GA show or will reserved tickets be on sale on Fri too?

Wolftrap is such a great venue that anywhere in the Orchestra is a pretty good seat. Thought the system was much more responsive than the old presale system. Agreed on the responsiveness. This was quick and easy (although the $8.50 mailing fee is absurd). It probably helps that Wolf Trap is a relatively large venue for Wilco. I didn't have trouble getting presale seats for Merriweather 2 years ago, but I've never gotten anywhere near a presale at the 9:30.

Yeah, that happened to me too, when I tried to get night 2 tickets. Frustrating, but at least the main sale is still ahead. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure the Wiltern is all GA. Do you know, Maudie? (Because I'm too lazy to go look)

Hey now, I'm in Row T 12 & 13. for Wolf Trap. I was in right at 10am too. I'll be the one who is kicking your seat before the show and my wife will be the one who spills a beer on you.... kidsmoke
Can't say I know Maudie. Why? Oops, must attempt to be clearer in my communications, despite that I'm all wonky with sleep deprivation today! What I meant there was, a question directed to Maudie, our moderator whose secret identity here on the board is "gogo". I was hopeful that perhaps Maudie would know definitively whether the Wiltern is all GA. Maudie knows an amazing number of things. As for yourself, you really should know Maudie! She's great people. Perhaps you will have the good fortune to make her acquaintance at the Wiltern.
Bart1
Damn! You Wolf Trap guys did a lot better than me. I got Row BB which is the second row of the Rear Orchestra. I got through at about 10:00:22 so I just figured that they weren't offering any Front Orchestra seats for the presale, and I was pretty happy about my seats. Now I'm depressed!! They seemed to have a smattering of seats for the presale in lots of different sections. If you get in on the public sale promptly (Saturday at noon, I think), you can probably do better. I considered holding out for Saturday to get a pit ticket, but decided to get my ticket-buying out of the way.
gogo
Can't say I know Maudie. Why?Ha! And I don't know Jack! Donna, someone was saying somewhere around here that the balcony at the Wiltern is reserved seating , but I think there were only GA tickets available during the pre-sale. Hope that helps! scottwok
I do not like this new Frongate company at all!!!! Music Today was much better. I was not able to get any tix for the WIltern shows and I was on there right at 10. It seems they started the presale early, like at 9:58. Also, when I went to buy tix for the Pomona show presale the cost with their shipping charges came out to more than Ticketmaster!!! Lame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mikechuck
I was right on top of the on-sale time for El Paso and got row J, centerish. My buddy got on a few minutes after me and wound up with row C. What's up with that? I got back on a minute before the Wiltern on-sale time and it was already sold out. I guess no road trip to LA for me. A funny thing. Last week, I totally missed out on the Tucson presale, so I logged on when the public on-sale hit and got 8th row center. Maybe some of us who are not all that happy with today's gets might do better to try again when the general sale starts.
Granteson
I just noticed that more tickets have been released for Wolf Trap, I was able to get 4 together in row AA of the rear orch.

It would never let me get two Orchestra seats. I clicked it at 9:58 but apparently it was open already. I was kinda pissed, actually, because I wanted at least two seats but had to settle for one seat and a few lawn tickets. I'll try again when the regular tickets go on sale.
