Kyjygyfyf
Looking like my early fave off the new album. A quietly beautiful tune, with simple yet gorgeous vocals from Tweedy and Feist. More shades of George Harrison with the backwards guitar at the end. Didn't tab that part out, sorry. Capo 3rd fret All chords relative to capo. Moss
Thanks for the tabs. I have a gig this weekend with a band I have only played with 2 times so after that is done I will have some time to tab some others from the new one. Unless someone beats me to it.

quosh
A': x00240 that can't be right. I've not had a look at this yet but if it is wrong, would it not be just a little more pro-active to offer an alternative? Looking through some of your previous posts, it's pretty clear that you don't excel at pleasantries... And you think Hotel Arizona sucks....
Kyjygyfyf
Sorry, meant to write A' as x02400. Edited above.

chisoxjtrain
Try playing that A* as x02410. I think it sounds a little more accurate to what Jeff is playing.

anthony
Can I add my slightly different take on this? I just located the chord changes relative to the lyrics, added a few missing chords (IMHO) and showed the "main riff": the quick transition from C to Cmaj7 to A'. The Cmaj7 is really just a passing chord thrown in for color. I thought I'd make that a little clearer in tab form. As always, feedback is welcome. I am gonna try the ;code; thing. Hopefully it works and keeps everything together. You and I - Wilco Capo 3rd fret / All chords relative to capo. Gobias Industries
I play it a lot more simply, it seems to be more accurate to what Tweedy does (also sort of corroborated by watching the Letterman performance). I was going to add some corrections but there seemed to be enough to justify putting a new one together: You and I v.Dunderball Capo 3 -C-Cmaj7-G-G7-Am-Dm-Bb-Am9-Em-F-Fmaj7aug4 -0---0---3-3--0--1-----0---0--1-0 -1---0---3-0--1--3--3--1---0--1-0 -0---0---0-0--2--2--3--4---0--2-2 -2---2---0-3--2--0--3--2---2--3-3 -3---3---2-2--0--0--1--0---2--3-3 -3---3---3-3--------1------0--1-1 Intro: C-Am9 x2 C Am9 You and I C Am9 We might be strangers C F Em However close we get sometimes Am9 It’s like we never met F C Cmaj7 But you and I F C Cmaj7 I think we can take it F Em All the good with the bad Am9 F Make something that no one else has but C Dm You and I C F You and I Repeat the verse progression: Me and you What can we do When the words we use sometimes Are misconstrued I won’t guess What’s coming next I can’t ever tell You’re the deepest well I’ve ever fallen into C Am9 C Am9 F Oh, I don’t want to know Fmaj7aug4 Oh, I don’t want to know C Oh, I don’t need to know Am Everything about you F Oh, I don’t want to know C Bb Am And you don’t need to know Dm G G7 That much about me Repeat the verse progression for the following: You and I We might be strangers However close we get sometimes It’s like we never met But you and I I think we can take it All the good with the bad Make something that no one else has C Dm You and I C F You and I repeat x2, then outro C-Dm C-F for 2x and end.
