sgtpepper64
Here's a weird question: I've always loved "My Darling" Is that Jeff singing lead on it? It doesn't really sound like him, (although I really don't think it sounds much like Jay that much either). The phrasing doesn't really sound like Jeff, neither does the inflection. Could it be Jay? Or a unison lead? I know on the Summerteeth demo's it's clearly Jeff. Any thoughts?
absolutyyz
pretty sure its jeff doing lead but maybe jay doing the "bah bah bah bahs".
jmacomber68w
Jay singing My Darling on the DVD I Am Trying To Break Your Heart is the worst part of any movie ever made

elicash
I've always thought that was a sly piece of filmmaking as (for those viewers unaware that Bennett actually wrote the song) it seems to show Jay singing Wilco covers after he got kicked out. Also, the song plays as the camera shows the reconfigured group moving on without him. I have some problems with the film, but this scene is actually pretty interesting, all things considered. cooperissup3r
The most beatles-ish of their songs, IMO.
absolutyyz
Jay singing My Darling on the DVD I Am Trying To Break Your Heart is the worst part of any movie ever made yeah, when he sings it on the dvd, it seems like he is trying to convey emotion but it doesn't come across as real. something awkward about that performance. poor bastard. lamradio
The most beatles-ish of their songs, IMO. Agreed and one of my favorite Wilco songs, probably in my top 5. I've never understood how a lot of folks don't like it. It's brilliantly written, lyrically and musically, and the production on the recording is great.
jakobnicholas
My Darling is my least favorite song on Summerteeth, but I think Jay's ragged version is actually more interesting than the Summerteeth version.
lamradio
I've brought many new parents to tears covering it.

Edie
does Jay have kids? Depending on the result of the lawsuit, maybe.
