He said it was absolutely beautiful, especially around St. Basils Cathedral. Just be careful of "pick pockets". His group saw a robbery happen right in front of them.. He said they felt like they were in the last episode of Seinfeld (where they just watched and let the fat guy get robbed) but hey the guy could have had a gun. But don't let that scare you away from going.. Again I hear it's an amazing place.
KevinG
I spent some time in in Helsinki and Talin Estonia. We where gonna go to St. Petersburg but did not cause you have to get a VISA and that can take awhile and is extremely complicated. Here is the Government website which all the info. My suggestion is that if you go start the Visa process right now, cause I would imagine these tickets are non refundable. Or if tickets to Helsinki are as cheap go there cause that city rocks. I have been to Helsinki and Tallin which I loved...that is part of the reason I want to go to Russia because I figured it would be awesome like these two cities...Thanks for the link on the visa. I did hear it is quite a process!
Preferred B
I've been to Moscow. Visit GUM (if you like to shop?), the Kremlin area of course (I seem to recall inside a cathedral paintings that looked exactly like South Park characters and being pissed that I couldn't take pictures), and catch a ballet at the Bolshoi. Good Old Neon
My knowledge of Russia is directly proportional to the number of times I viewed Rocky IV and/or The Falcon and the Snowman - which, back in the day, was quite often. So, ask away.
