adsha38
If I am "on the guest list" for a show, what does that entail? Can I be backstage? Can I be there for the soundcheck? After the show? I need to know exactly what this means! Thanks
aricandover
it usually means that you get into the show for free, nothing else. but you should be asking the person who put you on the list for exact details.
Allspread
Usually means you get into the show, but no other "privileges" unless specifically arranged/stated by whomever got you onto the guest list. Doesn't even necessarily mean a ticket -- I was guestlisted into a Zac Brown Band show at the Tennessee Theater recently and got a wristband, which meant stand in the back behind the handicapped area as all seats are sold. Usually means a ticket, though. (I'm friends with someone who is involved with the mgmt company that reps Zac Brown) Still ... free is free ...
mollyegan
It usually means that you should fly me out to accompany you.
zebra
it usually means that you get into the show for free, nothing else.Correct. Just comp tickets, unless they also put you on the after show list, etc.
adsha38
I already have tickets, and my man "on the (very) inside" knows this. Does that change anything?

adsha38
I was hoping to avoid bothering him, but I guess that's the only real way to get my questions answered. Thanks for everybody's help, though!

Thanks for everybody's help, though! listen, i think you probably just wanted to let everyone know that you are on the guest list, but for argument's sake, we will pretend that this was a real question. if you are put on the list by a band or crew member, then there will be an after-show pass inside your will call envelope. it's not all-access, it's just meant for whatever the "backstage" area is post-show. Guest Speed Racer
yes, I am clearly well-established on this message board and have a virtual ego to stroke...I've just created this thread to taunt you all! what a fun way to entertain myself!or maybe...I created an account a short while ago in the hopes that someone would answer my question? what makes sense to you? There's really, truly, nothing wrong with bragging that you're on the guest list - that's great - but I think you were also being teased a bit because it's so obviously a question that only your well-connected friend could answer. Kind of like, "Jeff Tweedy's buying me dinner!! Any idea what kind of food I can expect?" No, I haven't a clue; Jeff might, though. Welcome to VC.
SarahC
guest list means ticket, unless you get up there to get said ticket and lady working tickets says "here's your tickets and backstage passes". it's just that simple.
