Sufjan Stevens Fall Tour

SUFJAN TO TOUR WITH CRYPTACIZE IN FALL

One of our favorite things around here is seeing our artists meander around the country spreading great music, so you can imagine our giddiness when two of our artists decided to pal up and tagteam an east-of-Lake-Minnentonka tour. The team? Sufjan Stevens and Cryptacize. Click more to read details.

We wanted to make this as equitable for all of the fans so there are a few things to read carefully here. Due to the sizes of the venues, tickets will be limited. With that in mind, we wanted to avoid ticket scalpers and ensure that as many fans as possible could attend these shows. Tickets must be picked up at will-call the night of the show (not mailed), tickets are non-transferable and purchaser must present a government-issued photo ID. Also, there is a two ticket limit per purchaser. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Tickets go on sale Friday the 14th. We'll post the purchase links on Thursday, but the venues will be handling the purchasing and will turn those on when they can (we have no control over what time Friday they turn the links "on").

Here's where Sufjan and Cryptacize will be, and when:

09-21: Philadelphia, PA - Johnny Brenda's

09-22: Philadelphia, PA - Johnny Brenda's

09-23: Ithaca, NY - Castaways

09-24: Cleveland, OH - Beachland Ballroom

09-25: Pontiac, MI - The Pike Room

09-26: Champaign, IL - The High Dive

09-27: Minneapolis, MN - 400 Bar

09-28: Madison, WI - The Majestic

09-29: Bloomington, IN - Buskirk Chumley

10-01: Toronto, ON - Lee's Place

10-02: Montreal, QC - Cabaret

10-03: Portland, ME - Port City Music Hall

10-04: New York, NY - Bowery Ballroom

10-05: New York, NY - Bowery Ballroom

10-06: Brooklyn, NY - Hall at Williamsburg

10-07: Brooklyn, NY - Hall at Williamsburg

Coincidentally, Sufjan also has a film and corresponding soundtrack about the BQE to be released in October as well. Although this tour has nothing to do with that, you can view the trailer for The BQE here.

daaaaaang. :blink

these shows all sold out crazy fast.

Mpls took 3 or 4 minutes (thankfully i got a pair)

The etix and Asthmatic Kitty sites were running mind-numbingly slow at 9am CDT. It took me until 9:08 or something but I still came away with two for Madison. I've never been in the Majestic before, but the pictures on its website look phenomenal. I feel very lucky because the last time I wanted to see Sufjan, he played in Milwaukee two weeks after I moved away for college, but tickets STILL sold out in an hour or so and I missed out. Those tickets were something around $50 when all was said and done; for this tour, I paid $19.50! This has the potential to be quite an experience.

Kyle (I have a feeling you would know better than anyone) is this tour just the man and a guitar/piano/banjo? Or will there be a band?

I am stoked to get a ticket for Toronto. Now I just need to figure out how to get someone to pay my airfare from SoCal.

Most of these venues look like they hold only a couple of hundred folks at most. Should be most excellent.

Okay, I'm gonna throw it out there. I didn't expect Sufjan to get all 50 state albums done, but isn't anyone else disappointed that he seems to have stopped after only 2?!?! Should be a good show though. I saw him in the Illinois tour back in the day and they were entertaining.
