Oil Can Boyd
Haven't seen this mentioned before but I just saw a preview for a movie called Passenger Side that includes someone (Greg Dulli maybe?) covering Passenger Side. The credits also say that the movie features songs by a lot of cool bands, including Wilco.
ThisIsNowhere
What's with all these movies about Wilco coming out?
thejokeexplained
What's with all these movies about Wilco coming out? i only know of one theater release move about Wilco and that was ITTBYH. Just because a movie has a wilco song or the band mentioned in it does not make it about them.
alecrothman
Somewhere I read or heard it said that if you want to know what movies will be like, look at the music made a couple decades prior (might have been on this forum actually). Well, 14-15 years is pretty close to two decades. This makes me really eager for the 2019 release of "Handshake Drugs".

But just from watching the trailer it's pretty clear this movie is about the Wilco song.

But just from watching the trailer it's pretty clear this movie is about the Wilco song. I saw funny people and Wilco was only mentioned in the film and no songs were played. I would say that the band didn't have any roll in that film other then being included in the dialogue. As for Passenger Side... from this review and synopsis on the film it also has nothing to do with Wilco other than one song being played and the films title is the same as one of their songs. http://tinyurl.com/m2fjxy Anyway even if the films are not about Wilco it's nice to the see the band getting some love from the film industry. Guest Alan
Looks like a cool movie. I don't see how anyone could think it's about Wilco though.
gopokes
I agree wholeheartedly that Wilco had nothing to do with Funny People, but Jesus, Etc. was played towards the end of the movie when Seth is parked, overlooking the city.
W(TF)
Whip It comes out in a month, with Ellen Page...wonder if there`s any Wilco music in it. Anyway, the cast is good and it looks like a fun little movie to see with my daughter (who thinks EP is God-- we enjoyed them being on SNL together last year or whenever it was). Apparently the love interest is played by Landon Pigg. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1172233/

Oil Can Boyd
You mean Jeff Tweedy, from Wilco?Hmm, y'know, on my crappy work speakers with the volume turned down low so as not to bother my colleagues I would have sworn it was someone else.
Aaron1
You mean Jeff Tweedy, from Wilco? My God, is it really? I'll have to watch it again. In my defense, I lost a bunch of CDs in a break-in about 5 years back, and I never got around to re-buying AM.
