remphish1
I signed up for the Wheel Watchers Spin Id after I attended a taping of the show back in 2008. I watch Wheel of Fortune maybe once every other month. Anyway I got an email from Wheel of Fortune Wheel Watchers yesterday with a newsletter of some sorts and my id was at the top. I decided to see if my number ever got called so I entered it in..Lo and behold back in July 2008 probably 2 month after I signed up my number was picked for an all expenses paid trip to Maui! You have only 24 hours to claim your prize after your number was called. I guess the fact that I don't watch the show I shouldn't feel upset but I must admit I am very bummed! Anyone else have a similar story??
alison the wilca
why was a 2008 winning ID on a current newsletter?! just to make you feel badly? seems like it would be better to never know.

It wasn't... I googled my number typed in wheel of fortune spin ids and my number and it said the date and the prize in the results!
sonnyfeeling
They probably count on the fact that the vast majority never get claimed because people don't watch the episode where they're picked. So they can "give away" far more than they actually have to pay for.
Good Old Neon
If it makes you feel any better, every year, for Christmas, for like, the last 10, my aunt has given the wife and I a $50 gift certificate for the Outback Steakhouse – which, is great and all, but we’re vegetarians. Dude
You could get a few margaritas for $50, too. Or more than a few.
