Guest Speed Racer
I thought the idea and original post were great. I find it absurd it was removed. The intention couldn't have been more clear or innocent. There were no links, you weren't asking for any money and nothing was being sold. What blatant self promotion! Remove the post! Off with his head! Cut it out. Donna explained her actions, and admitted that she had an error in judgment. Short of buying everyone on the boards ice cream cones, she's done her piece to make it right. If you have a problem with the moderators, send them a PM, but don't go making personal attacks on someone who spends hours upon hours making this board a decent place to be. Humans make mistakes (see your posts!). What she did wasn't a moderating policy, you know that's not how VC is run as a matter of course.
TemplePilot
Those two quotes are a looooooooooong way from what I would call a "personal attack."
Guest Speed Racer
Okay, crass, in poor taste, rubbing it in, dragging it on, off-topic (for quote two), unnecessary, redundant...

kidsmoke
TemplePilot, I see that Laminated Nap is trying to be diplomatic in replying to you, and I appreciate her common sense and supportive words. But here's the thing. I made a judgement call on a post that had the appearance of being spam, and (as is our policy) immediately contacted the member to discuss the action I'd taken. This is a courtesy extended because, being humans and conversing through the internet, sometimes intentions aren't entirely clear. Via Chicago's staff, and myself, bend over backwards to give our members the benefit of the doubt when a problem arises, but when a judgement call needs to be made, we make it. In this particular case, having removed what I felt to be spam, I then entered into a dialogue with the member and satisfied myself that spamming hadn't been her intention. I apologized for the misunderstanding and encouraged her to rejoin us, and things are completely fine between her and all of our moderating staff. The OP understands my position and has no further problem with it. Here's the section of our "Via Chicago Rules and Regulations" that seems to have escaped your notice. Please, read it over carefully, and if you have any further questions or comments I would be completely open to discussing them with you by pm. But don't use these forums for this. Regarding Our Moderating Staff Our moderators and administrators are unpaid volunteers. They work long hard hours to enforce our policies and make our forums as pleasant as possible. They deserve your respect and cooperation. If you are contacted about a problem, please work in good faith with the moderator to resolve the problem. It is inappropriate to use these forums to criticize the decisions of our moderators, or to lash out at them. Disagreements should be addressed by direct PM's to the moderating staff. If you have an issue with our policies or our moderation staff, please contact us directly. Threads regarding forum or member issues are not permitted, except for technical problems which may be addressed in the "Speakers Speaking in Code" forum. The moderating staff reserves the right to close or remove any post or thread at any time for any reason, without notice. We generally will contact the relevant parties by PM to explain our actions. At times the moderators may be overloaded with work and will not have time to do this. You may always contact us with any questions. I'm not King Solomon, I'm just a human. But I am very dedicated to this place and to its members, and I try very hard to moderate with thoughtfulness and fair-handedness. Any time there is a problem, I try to resolve it to everyone's satisfaction. Feel free to pm me if you wish to talk more.

bleedorange
The Rudy's in Leon Springs is still the best one, so if you're in San Antonio, I would check that one out. Otherwise, the consistency at the other locations is a bit spotty.
