I enjoyed that:

"Jesus, Etc." was a blessing despite having to operate without that sublime Al-Green-goes-Celtic string arrangement. If a film-choad like the talentless Cameron Crowe tries to taint that dreamy song by dropping it into Vanilla Sky II or some such turd, I may have to personally impale him on his Oscar from the sports-agent-with-a-tender-boner movie.

I enjoyed it too -- once he got to the point. The Wilco-the-quartet period in 2001 seems to be one of the most wishy-washy eras of the band. Some people seem to speak of that live era as incredibly boring and pretentious, others love it...

I forgot to add that this part of a series where Pfork is unearthing old articles that don't live on the site anymore...
