candyfloss1214
Wondering how it went getting into the Riv last night. I'm trying to plan for what time we need to get to the Vic tomorrow. Did it run smoothly? Just looking for a heads up on the no-ticket entrance. Thanks!!
Autumnteeth
Wondering how it went getting into the Riv last night. I'm trying to plan for what time we need to get to the Vic tomorrow. Did it run smoothly? Just looking for a heads up on the no-ticket entrance. Thanks!! Not bad. I got there a little late, still got a great spot. I did hear some people moaning though. The only problem I saw was not related to the ticketing, it was literacy related. The guy acouple groups ahead of us sold his tickets. He tries to buy, hand off, and walk. THen he mentioned his constitutional rights... This went on for only 45 seconds and he was swiftly escorted out. Drew loud cheers. Thought they had it down to a science but we were one of the last 50 or so in. I ended up next to a guy who was one of the first ten. He got there early to get a seat upstairs. He was screaming about how they did it. He seemed like the kind of guy who gets pissed that vending machines don't have Canfield's Diet Fudge so take it with a grain of salt. Madcap
So the people that bought tickets from that guy weren't able to get in right? A friend of mine wants to sell his tickets to a coworker, but I told him that I didn't think there was any way to do that. Did they check IDs at the door? Maybe he could give her his credit card haha. So the people that bought tickets from that guy weren't able to get in right? Degenerex
They actually scan the credit card that the tickets were bought on. When I handed them my credit card, a number "2" came up on the screen, which meant I had 2 tickets. Not sure how they handled people who didn't have the credit cards on them. Guest Jules
They didn't seem to be very diligent on actually looking at IDs. Swipe of the credit card and that's it (from what I saw).
calvino
I had no problem getting in. My tickets were charged on my wife's credit card - she decided on not attending - I brought her credit card and license and they just checked her credit card. We bought our tickets through Frontgate, they just had a list of names on paper and checked them off, while Etix had the machines to swipe.
Guest Jules
Yeah I don't think the Frontgate guy even checked my credit card. Just took my word for it on my name.

I am not even sure he really did check mine either - I saw her name on the piece of paper and I pointed it out to him and he said "great".It seems to be good system, though - I guess it does help on the scalping, because one doesn't really know when or how much they will check. The lines went quick, too, for us at least. If this is all I have to do to cut out scalping it works for me. You had to figure that when the emphasized bring the card, even if expired, call if it is lost or stolen before the show.... that the card was the key. The guy in front of me used his moms card, different last name, and got in.
