kidsmoke
From the first notes of the surprising opener, "Reservations", through the final notes of the rollicking, quartet-of-half-naked, cowbell-dancing-men of Hoodoo Voodoo, this show was a pure joy. Rock & Roll will never die, not as long as it's done like this. Glorious. I am bleary with happy exhaustion after a loooong drive each way and an intense, exhilarating concert inbetween, so I will leave it to others in a more coherent frame of mind to describe this thing in proper English, which I cannot at the moment do. I seek sleep, doubtless to be filled with dream-memories which will have me smiling in my sleep! Omigosh that was fun!!! What an amazing band.

My closest lifelong friends were seeing their first Wilco show. People I started going to shows with in 1973. Can't wait for them to wake up and check in with the east coast. Drinky Crow
Great show last night. Hard to pick a favorite, but I always like me a good "California Stars." The vibe from the band and the crowd was reminiscent of the Residency. Speaking of the Residency, only two things could've made it better:"It's Just That SImple"The Total ProsDonna, I'm glad you were able to make it and I knew the drive would be worth it! Shug
only two things could've made it better:"It's Just That SImple"The Total Pros Those two things would make any show better, I heartily agree! I love a horn section!
Quietfrontyard
Another flawless show. Gushing all over myself all day. Band/crowd chemistry like San Jose but perfect acoustics and ambience. It's embarrassing how often I've given into the live Wilco addiction and last night I got She's a Jar!!! My knees were actually shaking. Haha. Pure bliss. (and I got to hug Ted!!! Who are you, Ted?) Serious question - I've been looking at that owl for years and I have never seen it blink until this tour. Has the owl always blinked??.
mc1620
Excellent show last night. Would love to hear it again.
kidsmoke
worldrecordplayer, I'd love to hear what your friends thought! I hope they had a grand time! Dave, thanks so much for posting the setlist! Great show last night. Hard to pick a favorite, but I always like me a good "California Stars." Yep, that was one of my best-ever last-minute decisions. So much fun, such a wonderful mood to the entire show. What an ending, huh? Excellent show last night. Would love to hear it again. I'm with you! I hope someone taped.
Albert Tatlock
Serious question - I've been looking at that owl for years and I have never seen it blink until this tour. Has the owl always blinked??.Ditto.I think now they've got their own label they're allowing themselves to claim batteries on expenses.
worldrecordplayer
worldrecordplayer, I'd love to hear what your friends thought! I hope they had a grand time! Grand time indeed! Second row center (I gave them the heads up on the pre-sale). Loved every second of the show. They've been listening over the last 6-12 months but this was first time live and it lived up to all my proselytizing. The level of musicianship of every member of the band dropped their jaws for sure.
Shug
Dang! If we could've gotten the time off work, LD and I probably would've joined you at this show, Donna. I'm glad you got to go. I'm mildly freaking out to not have any Wilco or My Morning Jacket shows that I can attend anywhere near on the horizon! I love those all-rockers encores, that one looks pretty good. A Monday would've put it over the top for me...
Johnny Meltone
Such an energetic show! Great venue too. Does anyone know why they didn't have the rag-ghost backdrop? I was sitting in the balcony at the LA Theater and couldn't get the full scope of the lights show on the backdrop. Floor seats at the Arlington and *poof* no backdrop. Of course they disn't need it, but...And the rag-ghost trees on the side seemed awkward without the backdrop. Anyhow, one of my favorite Wilco shows.
Quietfrontyard
Ditto.I think now they've got their own label they're allowing themselves to claim batteries on expenses. Thanks for the validation. I think I would have noticed the eyes before. Maybe not though - I get that 'live wilco high' every show. This one was a doozy. Agree on the above comment about level of musicianship of every band member. These guys are ridiculous and Wilco wouldnt be the same without any one of them. Even the simple things, like perfect harmonies on She's a Jar... Pure bliss!
