jcroach
So, my mother-in-law is getting re-married in about 3 weeks. She's been a widow for 20+ years. She's put all of the wedding music, ceremony and reception, into the hands of my wife and me with no instructions or preferences. HELP! Anyone have suggestions for good wedding music for a 70+ year old couple?
Lammycat
Count Basie Orchestra, Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Frankie Laine, Ray Charles, Wilco.
LouieB
I would ask her. Big band music, vocalists, and R&B may not be what she really likes. It could be that she likes the Beatles and old rock and roll. LouieB

Sweet Papa Crimbo
If they are in their 70's, than 50's music is probably appropriate.Patty PageFrank SinatraElvisPerry ComoBuddy Holly (Remember...Paul McCartney is 70)
LouieB
In all seriousness I would ask. It is possible that these folks are hipper than the easy listening/vocalists suggested. Then again most everyone (although NOT everyone) likes Sinatra. The 50s weren't really that boring musically. LouieB
jcroach
Thanks everyone. I've known the bride for almost 20 years. She's certainly not hip. We'll probably go the big band/50s pop route (And Wilco). She's not much of a music lover and it's going to be really low key, no-frills sort of thing.
LouieB
Nothing wrong with any of that type of stuff. Lots to choose from. LouieB
