lost highway
The performances are up now at www.thedailyshow.com They did the two tunes that have been released so far. Tweedy and Spencer were not along, looked like some of the same band Mavis was performing the You Are Not Alone record with. Coolest part, is they're streaming another single exclusively at the Daily Show sight. It's called "Far Celestial Shore", slightly folkier and less funky than the other stuff we've heard so far. Really pretty.

Anybody know the other voices?...love both these new tracks.Along with Yvonne, the other background singers in Mavis' band are Donny Gerrard and Vicki Randle (both well-established artists in their own right). RainDogToo
NPR First listen: http://www.npr.org/2013/06/16/191304072/first-listen-mavis-staples-one-true-vine
choo-choo-charlie
After my first listen, my favorite tracks are "Holy Ghost," "Can You Get To That," "I Like the Things About Me" and the title track -- which, in my mind, is superior to Wilco's recording. That tune seems like it was meant for Mavis. Also dig "Far Celestial Shores."
pathfire
Does anyone know the 3 tracks that Jeff wrote on this album? Jesus Wept sounds like a Tweedy-penned track. Apologies if this has been mentioned in another thread. Thanks!
pathfire
Well, besides One True Vine and Jesus Wept.
