IRememberDBoon
If I counted correctly at setlist.fm, the band played 115 different songs during the tour. That's pretty remarkable. That is allsome. That's Phish territory.
linclink
If I counted correctly at setlist.fm, the band played 115 different songs during the tour. That's pretty remarkable.I'm very hopeful that there will two volumes of Roadcase releases from the AmericanaramA tour...One would be concentrating on the amazing collaborations- especially the Richard Thomson stuff ("Sloth", "Calvary Cross" & "Tomorrow Never Knows" that had Thompson & some of the guys from MMJ, oh yeah & the "Suzanne" with Feist & Richard...)The other I would hope would focus on the more obscure original tracks that haven't appeared on the other Roadcase releases...that would be as great as the collaborations!! Shug
Not to be a bummer, but I kinda doubt we will get Roadcase releases of these shows because of the guests. There is undoubtedly a bunch of legal and financial complications to releasing shows in which other artists who are signed to other labels appear. I hope I'm wrong. I suppose they could do a compilation and leave out the guests, but isn't the Roadcase series complete single shows so far?
indy81
Has anyone put together a compilation from all the audience recordings? Why wait for the Roadcase?

Wilco busted out some serious rarities on the tour that are worth "preserving" in an official Roadcase release. More so than three shows from Japan with similar set lists to many other sets available for purchase. But I'm not getting my hopes too high. I think it would've happened by now if it were happening at all.
redstripe
It could be complicated to acquire the rights to guest artists' performances... ideally the artistss would have signed a release prior to the sit in. The mechanical rights cost about $0.09 per track per copy (>5 mins), whether it's for a CD or a permanent file. As we saw with the Solid Sound show, paying for these rights is not a barrier to releasing cover songs. Here's hoping all of it gets an official release.
